Flying Corran Horn...

By Shinren, in X-Wing

My firts tme flying it vs another rebel player (Wedge, Ten and Tycho) in a classic 100 pt match was a complete failure: my opponent killed him before he was able to shot once...

But my second chance using Corran, it was absolutely amazing !!

I've had a 120 pt match vs an imperial player and Corran was able to destroy Winged Gundark in the first round of fire, and then, after 2 rounds, a k-turn and the help of a gold squadron pilot upgraded with a ion cannon turret, Corran destroyed Rexler Brath's Tie-Defender !!

The combination of Corran's ability with fire-control system and r7-astromech (I also added push the limit, it is ) is brutal: shoot while already having a target lock, spend it, regain it, use it while defending, shoot again at the end of the round and regain another target lock is quite impressive !!

I will try to use it again soon !!

Someone else has had a good response using Corran ?

;)

That's a good set up, add engine upgrade to arc dodge like mad as well... and a APT for a insta kill! :)

I love Corran, I flew him against Rexler, Jonus, and two loaded bombers to wonderful effect!

My list was:

Wes + VI
Porkins + Oppurtunist
Corran + FCS + Marksmanship

My one test with him was fun and successful. I put fcs on him and paired him with 3 rookie xwings. They deployed together but on the first turn he split off to become a flanker. His ability was kind of neat until the final round; then it won the game.

I was able to get into position for Corran to get range 2 shots on Echo. The first shot softened him up and stripped tokens, the second shot finished Echo off.

I played a couple games with him in this completely competitive impractical setup yesterday

So yeah, he was 44 points, which is a bit much, but it was still fun. The trick is to not use his ability too much. Wait till you have a target at range 1, or otherwise in a position where finishing off the target is all but guaranteed. If I could figure out what to drop(most likely VI) I'd prefer to also give Corran an R2 Astromech. Those white 1 banks are painful when you need to clear stress, green 2 turns would just be a bonus.
