gunner + tactician = double stress if ur first attack misses

By The_Brown_Bomber, in X-Wing

nice combo. gunner + tactician

attack, give stress, miss, gunner allows second attack, give 2nd stress :)

Outer rim smuggler and Lambda Shuttle could both use this and be effective stress givers.

u r actually more likely to miss (and therefore trigger the 2nd attack) with ORS as its 2 attack dice.

the basic setup is the same points...

ORS + tactician + gunner (34pts)

Omicron Group Pilot + FCS + Gunner + Tactician + Engine Upgrade (34pts)

thoughts?

Way better idea than flachete torpedoes, gunner and munitions failsafe

I like it on the shuttle or possibly the Decimator. The ORS..... thats a lot of points on something that wont be hurting anyone.... basically ever. :)

We already talked about doing this with the Decimator, only with double Tacticians. Take Expert Handling on one of the named VTs and you're good to go.

4 stress a round is fun!

I prefer double tactician and Ion Cannon.
Because screw you for three turns after I shoot you once.

I've had some success with Roark+ion+tactician. Although it's getting off topic so I won't elaborate other than to mention it.

Wow this has potential.

Just pair the Lambda with a Black Squad with Wingmen and park that Lambda just outside of the main combat.

Leaves enough points for 2 bounty hunters :D

you could throw Col Vessary in there to take advantage of the target lock on that target. I am so looking for a way to get Vessary, a shuttle and Echo in the same force effectively.

I have a build with Kath, the gunner and Marksmanship, with Marksmanship you get a significant increase in crits that you deal + more chance of having crits canceled therefore more stress tokens to give . Pair that with Echo or Whisper with Tactician and you have something pretty good. Hard hitting attack dices + 2 stress tokens almost guaranteed on the ship that you focus fire on!

I get that tactician is good, I get that double stress is double the fun, but typically I try not to fly my low agility turret ships in such a way that my opponent is in my primary firing arc the majority of the time (kind of defeats the turret purpose). I just don't get why people are so jazzed about YT tactician.

Likely they're missing the 'inside your arc' text on tactician. I did at first as well.

I'm anxious to try something like this:

kath / boba

-deadeye

-tactician

-cluster missiles

-munitions failsafe

Cluster missiles is a 1 time use gunner at range 2, and gives a guaranteed 2 stress. Deadeye lets you ditch the target lock requirement. It's not like you want to hit anyways because you keep the missiles if you miss for munitions. The firespray also lets you shoot backwards and still trigger tactician because it is technically a firing arc..... just can't shoot missiles backwards.

I'm going to do a battle report with this idea. I'll bring Vessery along with our Outmaneuver. Those rebel dogs won't be k turning to face Col. Vessery when my space cow has them gobbling on the stress.

hm... Ion Cannon + Tactician, coming up in a B-wing near you.

nope. no crew slot on a B-Wing :(

Blue Squadron Pilot + B-Wing Title + Tactician (25)

Could be fun...

That's the list I'm thinking about too, having just bought all 3 ships mentioned this weekend. I've put this together on paper but not had chance to fly it yet:

Jendon, weapons engineer, st321

Vessary

Echo, Intel agent, SPA

not sure whether I need the title on the shuttle, so might swap that for something like an ACD or advanced sensors on the phantom, maybe also giving the phantom FCS..?

Cheerio,

Ben

My first wave 4 was very similar. I don't think Jendon is needed as the only TL he would give would be to echo. And aside from the first turn in the game, echo probably won't be next to your shuttle anymore. Echo is kinda.... well.... she hops ALL over the map. Vessery on the other hand just needs a TL on whatever he wants to shoot, so any shuttle with the title can do that.

I actually used kagi with the title, with echo (VI and ACS) and Vessery. Kagi gives your opponent 2 choices: either ignore and lose TL capbility, or focus on only to get smacked by echo and vessery
