How Awesome is the Firespray-31

By devotedknight, in X-Wing

I was just wondering how awesome is the Firespray-31, And what would be the best build for it?

Super awesome.

Best build: 3 firesprays! Presto!

On a scale from 1-10, I give it a firm 31.

In all honesty, it's a very solid ship. One of the tankiest in the game, with an all around solid dial. The named pilots can be okay, but a simple Bounty Hunter with either Gunner or Recon Specialist is hard to beat.

They must be awesome! How do they compare with Wave IV?

The give a phantom a "what for" kind of like

Still competitive. Wave 4 provides more options for the Empire, but they have yet to replace the Firespray outright.

Well, vet Insticts, fett, and Navigator can eat Phantoms.

Bounty hunter is pretty great with Recon Specialist.

Rebel Captive works well on all of them as a Phantom Hinderence. They outtank Defenders.

So basically, still one of the best ships in the game.

The only limitation I frequently encounter with the Firespray is the single crew slot. Other than that, I have no complaints.

When people ask for recommendations about what to buy around here, the Firespray is usually at the top of my list.

especially having 30 hit points on the field with great firing arcs, 3 firesprays can be a very competitive team

Trip BH fares very well in a WIV meta.

I understand this to mean that if there was a second crew slot this would be hands down the best ship in the game but ...WAAAGH its not?

they're super balanced ships, once you understand the implications of the large base as far as movement and shots goes, you'll be in good shape. They can do mostly everything you'd want them to, as long as its not too drastic. They've always been the last thing on any table for me.

How awesome is the Firespray 31? It goes to 11! :)

Personally quite like Krassis Trelix with an HLC, last game I used him he killed 100pts of Rebels while the rest of my squadron got wiped out in like 3 rounds...

Haven't tried them myself yet, but my own Rebels are hard pressed looking down the many barrels of a triple Bounty Hunter list...

My go-to build is Krassis with an HLC and Recon Specialist with 2 Interceptors, now most often Carnor Jax with PTL and Turr Phennir

So awesome, I had to get two.

So awesome, it is the only ship Chuck Norris plays.

So awesome that awesome is measured as % of a Firespray.

My kids are acting up so I will think of more later.

Beneath Chuck Norris' flight helmet there is no face, only another fist...

In the beginning, God said, "Oh hey Chuck, how long you been here?"

So awesome it's the only ship type that didn't get completely redesigned for Special Effects Festival 2000... Uh... The Prequel trilogy...

Krassis is probably the most balanced ship in the game with a HLC and recon specialist. Hard to kill and extremely hard hitting.

How do you fly a Firespray so that it avoids asteroids and is able to get enemy ships within its two arcs of fire?

Been having some issue with flying my Firespray - enemy ships could just slip into its blind spot and its large size makes it difficult to avoid asteroids.

Don't fly a firespray into crowded space. Keep them in a more open area and wait for your enemies to come to you. If you arm it with a hlc, you don't need to get close to your enemies.

You just need to fly them better because most other ships has MORE blind spots than a firespray.

Honestly, I don't like HLCs on Firesprays anymore. I spend at least as much time with my butt pointed at the enemy as I do my front arc, if not more. If you want to play with HLCs, try B-Wings or Defenders instead.

I'm with ya on the need for an extra crew. I keep hoping for some new firespray toys:

Prisoner transport refit title: extra crew slot, extra sheild

More Prisoner type crew too

And some more named pilots. Fett and Kath are cool characters but lacking in special abilities. I too dislike HLC on the firesprays so Krassis is just meh.

Firesprays are amazing.

It is one of the best ships in the game IMO.

Gunners are an awesome crew card - comes in the box and works out of front and back arc, unlike a HLC.

The fact that it's the only 1-2-agility ship that has the evade action without upgrades and titles doesn't hurt, too.

Plus it can stand off a jedi with a kid at the stick.
