Are you Imperial or rebel...and why?

By Hydraface, in X-Wing

Having watched the films, I'm a rebel at heart (guys, don't you know, the Empire are the bad guys), but every time I find a rebel list that's interesting to fly, a bunch of new imperial ships come along to tempt me over to the dark side.

Seriously, I don't care either way, I just like quirky lists that keep me on my toes to fly them right. I can do that with either faction. My current list is ABXY, but is about to be replaced by a PSD list.

Cheerio,

Ben

I fly Imperial.

Ever since I was a kid, I just loved the look of the Empire: black, white, grey and a hint of red. The uniformity of it, and the organizational prowess.

Maybe I also have a latent authoritarian personality. There's probably some Freudian analysis for it all. (My mother was a communist rebel, my dad a libertarian rebel. They have both rebelled against me.)

Okay... maybe a little TMI, but you asked. :P

Hm... why do I have R2-D2 as my avatar? I need to shop around for something more fitting.

EDIT: *sigh* not really anything fitting to be found. I guess I'll stick with R2-D2.

EDIT#2: R2-D2 remains the most pivotal character in the whole Star Wars saga.

Rebels, haven't even tried running Imps. Limited budget (rebels need less ships to be competitive), Fluff reasons (Rogue squadron FTW), more interesting synergy builds (howlruner is cheat code, not synergy)

I fly mostly Rebels. Why? Because of their esthetics. The rebel ships are all so different in shape but still share a lot of the same design features which tie them together. This makes a rebel ship very personal, but their squad is still nice and cohesive.

Allthough I don't like every ship as much as the X, B or Falcon (A and E are pretty Meh), Rebels are miles and miles prettier than the every-tie-looks-the-same-Imperials.

That said, I still like to collect those little imps so I can fly against my GF and, off course, for the cards.

Use a TIE Fighter.

Ultimate symbol of uniformity.

Agreed. The good guys would have never lost if it wasn't for him. He's there at every important moment...he's the best pilot in the galaxy (notice Luke and Vader both use him and Vader specifically targets him in the death star trench run). My bet is the **** little bugger turned Luke's targeting computer back on... Force my Azz...

Rebels. B-wings have always been my favourite Star Wars ship. Can't wait for Rebel Aces.

Nothing better than a DROID keeping itself alive, while incidentally keeping a pilot alive as well. The real heroes of the Rebellion are the brave astromech droids making up for the human condition. I fly both all the time, but I love the Rebels a bit more.
