Yep, this comes up every now anad again. But with a new wave having been unleashed, and with W5 on its way, plus the upcoming Rebel Aces incoming, it'd be interesting to see where people's allegiances lie. Have you stayed loyal to one cause, or do you tend to switch out when something new and shiney comes along?

For my part, I've made the switch to Imperials. I think the Firesprays are the coolest ship in the game; fun to fly, with a million layout options, you can have a ton of fun with them.

Also, the Phantom is too much wackiness to ignore; it really adds a lot of unpredictable silliness to the game, and is very rewarding when flown well.

I've also found Imperial Tactics to be a bit more varied; with rebels it's about pouring on that target-locked firepower, with the Imps, it can be more about out-manouvering your opponent and fighting with a shade more subtlety.

Finally, rebs have huge ships. Now, do you really want to be the guy flying them, or the guy pounding those space-whales with firepower 'til they erupt in flames?

So are you one of the bad-guys? Or do you fly for the Empire too?

Well, you can see from my sig that my fleets are pretty even - I think my rebels outnumber the imperials by 1 Z-95! ( not withstanding the huge ships).

I know it's frowned on a little, but I do like playing both sides but, if I had to choose, I would proudly serve the glorious Empire. As you noted it's more about movement and positioning rathe than TLs and firepower, plus I love Bombers with flèchettes and ion pulse missiles.

And I also agree that the Firespray is a little more fun than the Falcon as you have to put a bit more thought into flying it.

Actually, having just seen my sig, my imperials outnumber my rebels!

My overwhelming love of the X-wing meant I was always going to be rebel.

Rebel and Imperial. I'm the guy who buys everything so I use it all too.

I've always leant towards the dark side I loved x-wing on pc but tie fighter was such a great game and contained the defender my favourite fighter so yeah going imp was the obvious choice.

Play both, but imperial ships have the most fun boosting and barrel rolling, as long as they aren't up against turrets of course.

Imperial as the first few games I played I fell in love with the barrel roll. Saying that I have x wings, y wings and a yt 'cos why not it's the falcon FGS.

Imperial options are more varied and lend better to my playstyle, but if could only play one side it would be Rebel.

Imperial for fun games, rebels for tournaments.

i like both sides ships and buy both, but i have only flown Rebel Scum. i keep saying that i want to fly imps but i haven't yet lol.

I side with the Empire. The hippie progressives also known as the rebellion need to be exterminated . Too much diversity and open thinking.

If I were forced to pick a side a stick with it, that would be Rebels. However the truth is I sway and jump the fence often depending on where the meta is.

I play X-wing Miniatures, which means I pick a list depending on what I feel like playing at the time; the factions are a convenient way to organize my ships, but that's it.

I own both. I play both. But competitively I prefer the Empire. I love the Firespray, Shuttle, Tie, and Phantom.

I play both, but mainly imperial from the start because their more maneuverable, more of a challenge in my opinion, and its more satisfying to destroy a huge ship then fly one at the moment.

I used to play both, but I just had WAY more fun flying the Empire. So I traded all of my Rebel stuff away.

I buy both because I love the game and STAR WARS. I love both Imppies and Rebbies, how I feel on any given day determines the faction I run.

I am also all about EPIC.

BOTH! It depends upon a lot of variables for me! My son stole my Imperials at the beginning of league, so I had to play Rebels. But he is switching over to Rebels with this new wave, so I'm probably heading back to Imperials. LOL!

Rebs! I don't like seeing my ships go down.
