I have way too many old books from my WEG d6 Star Wars days...I thought that it was from one of them...but perhaps it was d20.
In any case it was a transport-sized (like the YT-1300) freighter but it had external clamps and effectively doubled as a battle carrier. Typically you'd run with Z-95's. I think it had a fighter capacity of 2 or 4.

I'm fairly familiar with the WEG D6 stuff, but nothing comes to mind here. You might try the D6 Holocron Wiki . They've got images on many of the transports.
That doesn't really sound like the Ghtroc 720, which didn't have any external docking clamps or was known for carrying other craft (other than that time in the Thrawn trilogy where one was gutted to hold Luke's X-wing).
Perhaps it was the http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/ILH-KK_Citadel-class_civilian_cruiser if it could have also been from the WotC source books. That seems to match the full description.

Yes, he did, but the external docking clamps are the defining feature here.
I wonder if he's thinking about the Gozanti cruiser , which isn't all that larger than a YT, is made by the same corporation as the YT, but really shouldn't be called a cruiser.

I seem to think of the Citadel "Cruiser" as well.
A "freighter" sized ship that seems like it was designed just for a diverse party of PCs.

It could be run by a small group. Our RPG group eventually picked one up. It did not need a dozen crew...about same crew reqs as a YT-1300... So not a cruiser. Looked at the Gozanti...It was a bit smaller than that but close.
Not the Ghtroc 720 either. Maybe a private yacht if not a freighter???

It is worth pointing out that the gozanti LOOKS a lot bigger than its stats say it is. Looking at pictures of it I would have said it was about the size of the transport, when really it is only slightly longer than the decimator.

A ship called the Citadel Class Cruiser. It was mentioned twice before although the first is kind of hidden in a link. It may not be WEG but it REALLY sounds like what you are looking for complete with docking clamps for two fighters.

ILH-KK Citadel-class Civilian Cruiser is the only thing that comes to mind, it's freighter size with docking clamps for 2 starfighters. It's in the Edge of the Empire rpg book.

Yup... it is going to be a small Huge ship. Might just be on one of the slightly larger new Huge ship bases.
