New Use for Royal Guard Interceptors

By That One Guy, in X-Wing

So i flew this squad the other day to remarkable effect.

Royal Guard Int + Outmaneuver

Royal Guard Int + Outmaneuver

Rexler Brath + Predator + Ion Cannon

Outmaneuver featured prominently throughout. Both ships fired on wedge at range 3 from outside his arc while he went after something else (it was a 1 v. 1 v. 1 match) and nearly took him from full health to dead (1 hull point left). Outmaneuver also got Airen Cracken killed, and the final surviving A-Wing test pilot, in a spectacular "i've rolled more hits than you can even dodge and you have 1 hull left" sort of way. Rexler's ion cannon also allowed for some great outmaneuvering shots.

As a side note, I'd like to point out that this match was an excellent case for the Defender's utility and its three evade dice. On two separate turns, it took shots from at least 4 people (in one of those turns, it took six attacks), and after both of those turns still had a shield left.

I love my 'Rose of Death'. All of them actually (Yeah, I purchased multiples). The Defender has some fantastic staying power. I'd warrant it as having better survivability than a Firespray, at least in the games I have played.

Cheers

The all red intercepter is just so darn sharp.... Warrants a second imp aces box.

That said, I can't wait to get a defender and work it into a build. Hopefully with similar success as you have reported in this post.

Yeah, I rolled well that day too. My attacks were about average before modifications, but my evasion dice were hot. Rolled about 2 evade results for most attacks against me. That's why I keep advocating variance, you just can't beat those good dice. And with 3 agility, you just do even better when you're rolling hot than with a Firespray.
