Wave 5 has been updated to "At the Printer" however still no update on Rebel Aces

Huh, maybe we will not indeed get any additional Wave 5 ships. That's kind of surprising. I thought they would announce 2 more.

It seemed like the general consensus on the forums was that FFG, when announcing a wave, reveals all ships at once. But yeah I guess if they're at the printer there's slim to no chance of them adding more ships to the wave.

Here's the thing to remember about the initial announcements. They tend to go out with the initial pre-orders for retailers. That is why they are so early and shows all of what is in a "wave".

I'm very happy with a smaller wave, especially since the two ships in it cost 2x and more than 2x the cost of the smaller ships anyway.

We'll see...Aces have been at the printer since 5/1 and then when updated will take another what, 6-8 weeks whilst "On the Boat" Hopefully that won't be the case for wave 5 but time will tell

Wow, maybe they will get them out by the end of September. Maybe. Unless Wave 5 pulls an Imperial Aces and stays on the boat forever.

God I hope they don't end up on the boat forever, I usually have to wait an additional 2-3 weeks for stockists on the UK side of the Atlantic to get stuff in so it just drags on even further...

I'm guessing that two ships doesn't really conjure the image of a 'wave' anymore.

I think I agree with you on that. I mean, I'm still intrigued by what they might bring out, but I wonder if they should really be pumping the stuff out as quickly as they've been doing recently.

That's up to your LGS. I generally pre-order my stuff as soon as it hits the boats.

It appears he's slipping. I was fully expecting him to be the first to post this news.

The FLGS that I order from had Wave 5 up at least last week. Rebel Aces as been there even longer.

It has become the nature of the internet... kind of sad but very funny to. I wonder why some of the guys refuse to accept the printed word especially when it comes from a proven source.

I was thinking...guys stop being dummies, and setting yourselves up for an unreasonable disappointment that is entirely self inflicted .

Now watch, some people will actually get upset when the new ships are out, and bad mouth FFG because wave five really was just two ships.

As awesome as it is that we will be getting the ships sooner, I feel like it's too fast. We just got Wave 4. Waiting another 6 months for them won't be too agonizing if it takes that long. To be honest I hope they don't hit till the end of the year. The more new things are quickly added into a game the worse it can get. FFG has been doing a good job so far though.

Hey now, some of us got into x-wing for the starships (ala cr-90) as opposed to just the starfighters for fleet skirmishes and would like to see more options for large ships in standard tournaments. Plus, some of us have been wanting a vt-49 decimator model since the release of jump to lightspeed in pre-nge galaxies (as well as hopefully an incom x-4 gunship for the rebels, but that's another wave & discussion entirely).

Hopefully wave 5 and rebel aces will ship together.

This does not say that at all. It say's that they are announcing 2 large ships, and then says that in wave 5 these ships will arrive.

It does not say in clear plain English that Wave 5 is exclusively 2 ships.

It's ambiguous and the missing product codes fit with 2 more wave 5 and 2 imperial large, so there's some suspicion there understandably.

I agree that they probably would have announced it all at once for pre-ordering, so probably not 4 ships, but you are wrong about the announcement.

Yeah I'm thinking they will both have a soft prelaunch for GenCon attendees, along with an Imperial Huge Ship announcement, and then they'll release about the same time a couple weeks after that.
