This is not so much a rule question as it is just confirming the interaction. Wingman states "At the start of the Combat phase, remove 1 stress token from another friendly ship at Range 1." It does not say "you may remove," it just says to do it.

So if somehow you ended the activation phase with Farlander at range 1 of a ship with wingman, you would essentially be required to remove the stress token from Farlander, correct?
