Jabba's Pleasure Barge and Captured cards question

By Khamul The Easterling, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

1. When the conflict phase begins, can you trigger Jabba's Barge as many times as you want or just once? It says "Move one focus from a character you control to this unit" Can I take 3 focus off Bossk and put it on the barge at once? Just one? Can I take focus from multiple characters and put it on the barge?

2. When you capture a card, say from tattoine crash, can I look at it or do you take it face down and put it under the objective face down? I know the card ends up facedown under the objective, but can you look at it when you capture it?

Thanks,

Khamul

1. I believe all effects work once per triggering condition.

2. You may look at any cards you capture, however the Light Side player does not get to look at them until they rescue the cards.

So it really should say "Limit once per turn"? Lando says "Spend 1 resource to remove a target unit from engagement. (Limit once per turn)" However the Barge doesn't say a limit. But it does say "Move 1 focus from a character to the barge" So can I keep triggering the "Move one focus" effect? Or is it a one time thing?

I'm sorry, I didn't fully understand your answer.

OK, sorry I wasn't clear enough in the first place.

So the triggering condition in this case is "when your conflict phase begins..." The beginning of the conflict phase is the only time Jabba's Pleasure Barge can use its reaction. Because the phase only begins once on your turn, the reaction can only happen once. The reaction itself also states that you move only 1 focus token.

In addition, the reason why Lando's Action needs to have (Limit once Per Turn) on it is because the only cost for his Ability is spending 1 resource. Otherwise, the Light Side player could spend as many resources as there are available to remove thay many Units from engagements. It would be pretty ridiculous.

Thanks man.

I just thought that at the beginning of the conflict phase, you could quick trigger the barge ability multiple times and then move on with the rest of game. I didn't think it was a one time thing and then you move on.

No problem, I'm happy to help. :)

The general rule is that each card may only trigger a Reaction or Interrupt once per triggering condition. Similarly, the Emperor cannot use his Reaction multiple times when an objective is destroyed to return all of your Sith events back to hand. Lando has a "Limit once per turn" because it is instead an Action and could be triggered any number of times during an action window as long as you had the cost to pay (1 resource) and a target unit to be removed from an engagement.
