I'll put in another vote for Echo + VI + ACD. Stay at the edges, and use your ACD to the max. Maneuver around to the sides or rear, and use your four-die attack.
1 ship, 35 points.
I've played a number of these type of games and the winner (last man standing) usually has R2-D2. When you have a large free-for-all, there are threats from all sides so people tend to only get one passing shot at you before another target diverts them or scares them away. Being able to regenerate a number of shields will keep you in the game and makes you a very undesirable target.
Makes sense. For maximum tankiness and looking unappetizing:
Knave Squadron Pilot + R2-D2 + Sensor Jammer.
Or.... might we have found the ideal use for Porkins?
Porkins + Veteran Instincts + R2-D2 + Engine Upgrade
I don't care about his ability, just that you're PS9 + Engine Upgrade + R2-D2
Porkins is a mainstay in my groups furballs.
A more serious suggestion than my last post would be to take Luke + R2F2 + Stealth Device + either Determination/Veteran Instincts. As an action you raise you Agility to 4 each turn (3 once hit), convert 1 focus to an evade when defending. It should outlast most of other ships on the board and then you can swoop in and pick on the remnants.
I think I'd have to go for and Onyx with HU.
I run a school club and I've been running a 35 point mini tournament, and it's been ace, some elite pilot builds (Fel, ptl, targeting computer and hull) some 2 named tie builds, and some tooled up basic pilots (blue plus FCS and ion cannon, and hull I think)
it's been a really good way to introduce the kids to the game, give them a competitive challenge and, most importantly complete games including set up and pack up on a 50 minute lunch break
quick update: just finished my mini league at school. The winner was luke, R2D2 and a shield upgrade. 2 and 3 were tie fighter lists, mauler and dark curse just edging out night beast and dark curse with a shield upgrade on strength of schedule. last place was ten numb with FCS and expert handling.
You know, it's a shame that Vader + EU + Outmaneuver is 36
Swap EU with proton rockets (when they come out). I wouldn't want to get anywhere near that Sith Lord.
I use Ten Numb and Marksmanship. Eats up Phantoms all day.
If we're allowing spoiled-but-not-released cards:
Tycho Celchu + A-Wing Test Pilot + Push The Limit + Predator + Proton Rockets (35 points)

I think you may have just won the thread.
Rexler Brath + Chardaan Refit?

You realize that Luke w/ R2D2 & Shield upgrade = 36 pts?

I'm probably misremembering then. It was probably a hull upgrade instead
My pick, after last night's games, would be Etahn A'baht with Predator

Do you go to FCB?
Porkins can hold it:
Porkins
++Push the Limit
++R5-D8
++Hull Upgrade
