Does swarm tactics work on huge ships?

By Krynn007, in X-Wing

Can't remember our not

But if I have wedge with swarm tactics

Could I use that and give the Tantive a ps9?

Seems rather sick if you could as it will fire more before most

Giving that to Wedge is a waste since he will be forced to sit along side the CR90 to trigger ST at range 1, likely not able to shoot at anything since you'll spend all your efforts not getting run over.

Better to bring in Roark Garnett to boost the CR90 and her guns to pilot skill 12 from as far as range 3, costs 19 pts instead of 29, while actually being able to shoot stuff without fear of getting trampled by the whale lol

Yes, yes you can. And it can be awesome. He can also Decoy it if he wants to maintain some distance. But Roark is the real deal there. Roark passing to Wedge Passing to the CR90.

Hmm

Ya good idea

Plus Roark is usually considered less of a threat

Plus leaves room for other goodies

...back to the drawing board

I can only assume cracken can give free actions to huge ships as well.

Was thinking with that transport

Use it kind of as a blocker

Put it between my forces and my opponents main force.

Then use reinforce, and cracken to pass it a few action, so to use the jam action

Hoping to get a 3-400 pt game in and trying to come up with a high synergy lost, but not too the point where one ship goes down it all falls apart

The huge ship rules say that huge ships cannot use free actions, so no, Cracken would not work.

Dutch can give it target locks though. Two if you take Weapons Engineer.

Here's another thought,

If you take Jan Ors instead of Roark, so she can enable the CR90 to add one red die to every attack as long as she is range 3 from the corvette. Throw decoy on her so she can boost the pilot skill to 8 for combat instead of 4.

Drawbacks are that decoy only works to range 2 instead of 3 on Roark, you only get up to PS8 instead of PS12, and Jan is more expensive at 25 vs 19.

But that extra die on say 3 attacks would be sublime...

So many rules to have to remember

That doesn't work. Jan's ability only modifies a single attack, not all attacks. Her ability does't work with gunner - it certainly doesn't pile onto a CR90 with three hardpoint weapon attacks in addition to the primary.

Double ninja'd. Well played sirs. :)

oh ok, Jan's ability wasn't very clear. goes to show how often I've played her, exactly never

oh and yeah, gunner doesnt work on the CR90

jeebus i hate all the rules you have to keep track of...

I just happen to gm a shadowrun campaign. SR4 rules. So many nice rulebooks to read.

But latelt I have spent entirely too much time on x-wing and too little on my campaign

I can attest to Roark + CR90 being awesome together. I've never seen Roark hunted down and killed so quickly once my opponent saw what I was doing.

At this point I can't see playing a CR90 without Weapoms Engineer, Tactician, and Roark.
