Id put a 52 point Vader in a Tie Defender on the table.
House rule scenario time!
You and me both.

How I did it:So my wonderful Wingers how do we point up a Vadar in a Deffendar?

Being reasonable and cool about it...speak on it.

Take the cost of Vader at 29 and subtract the cost of the lowest TIE Advanced, A Tempest Squad at 21 points, from it. Then take the 8 points left and add it to the low end Defender, a Delta Squad at 30. This would put Vader at 38 points in a Defender.
on the Subject of former Tie pilots turned Rebel, don't forget about Han.

I THINK the question was supposed to be :
What ship would you put Vader in, other than the Advanced (If you could)?
Obviously he'd work well in an interceptor, but that is nothing new, we already have Soontir Fel. I think any of the 3+ attack die fighters would be a nice option for Vader, especially the Defender.
However, I'd love to see Vader in a Bomber. Target Lock + Focus each turn would be nice. Shouldn't be too expensive either since it's a cheaper base ship. Toss on Predator and you won't even need Jonus to boost him, (though you could).
Additionally I'd love to see Vader in a Shuttle, (As the pilot!). It would increase maneuverability by making Engine Upgrade easier to use, plus if you figure he'd HAVE to have an Elite Pilot Skill, you could actually give the Lambda the option to Barrel Roll - which would mean it has potential to actually move backwards if you pair it with Yorr.
So Lambda would be my choice for Vader to pilot a new ship.
Vader piloting a shuttle...? I think not! He is the Dark Lord of the Sith, the Right Hand of the Emperor, not a chauffeur! If you are going to just forget anything about the story behind the game, why not make it the Family mini-van, with Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker as crew. That would pretty much reduce Vader to the SW equivalent of "Imperial Soccer Mom" (they even make window stickers for just such a build)
. Pick up Leia's boyfriend and you'd have one kick-ass shuttle though!

I want to know who thingks a Shuttle, even that shuttle, should cost 46 points. Maybe 30 given the ability. No more than that.
Are you saying you want to use the card, because I can change it if it matters.
Heck, you know how to comment on a forum, I'm sure you know how to cut and paste.

Nah, the cost has just been bugging me. Everything else is great, but that one thing. Yipes.

which one is better?
Can you flip the left one vertically? Possibly horizontally as well.

It is more better now.

Are you trying to be funny? or
You really want the background on the other side,
is that what you are saying?
I guessing you're joking because what difference would it make
to flip the Delta Squadron version to a mirror image both ways.
You're yanking my chain aren't you.
Flipping it both axis is the same as rotating it 180 degrees
ha ha you got me.
Edited by gabe69velasquezThese are two of the best images out there,
I'd rather try using one of these.

I like the right image but my one small gripe is he's shooting six ion cannons, bolts from the lower four guns should be a lovely imperial green, in no way ruins the work though I like what you've done.

I want to do a third version, because I see serious flaws on the right one, and I feel like starting from scratch.

There is a difference in the feel of a picture if the movement flows from right to left, or from left to right. The movement now flows from top right to bottom left.
Even flipping it horizontally shifts how you look at it.
Personally, I prefer a version where the Defender is shooting from bottom left to top right, like so:
Do you best to fly out of firing arc. You could have the millennium falcon or lambda shuttle but if you fly in front of 3 B wings and range 1 then the toughest shieldest dodgiest ship will become space debris.
Vader the crew member is easily better and much more fun than Vader the pilot.
There's nothing quite like force choking a passing X-Wing pilot while hanging out of the window of your pimped-out Lambda.
I hear he has purple shag carpets and a disco ball in that pimpmobile.
crabbok, he was...and tycho, and wedge (i think)
Yes, and they were trained by Soontir Fel.
Vader flew a TIE Defender designated Delta-6 and Alpha-4 in the TIE fighter video game. Mareek Stele flew in the flight group as Delta-1 and later as Alpha-1.

FFG needs to get these guys into TIE Defenders. They could do it in a future aces pack or as a prize in one of their tournament packs.
27 points for Vader in an Interceptor?
Seems legit.
