Just put Vadar in another ship...YEAH!

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Vader in a Defender would be 38 points....I'd fly that. :-)

I would kill any number of Bothan spies to get Vader in a Defender. It's the obvious choice too since he actually flew one in TIE Fighter's campaign

Who wouldn't?

Add a Cannon, missile and EPT option and you might end up breaking the game really.

I would put him in the Naboo Starfighter.

He can blow up a whole Droid Control Ship on his own when piloting that thing.

on the Subject of former Tie pilots turned Rebel, don't forget about Han.

Let's just clarify something here, the OP is talking about "vadar" haha. I think it must be some new radar technology because I'm sure if "vader" was around he would have some choice words about his name being mangled that badly haha. JK ;) but yeah pretty much what everyone else said it would be fun to put him on another ship just for the fun of it but realistically the game is made the way it is and maintains a balance. Start messing with pilots and ships and now it will be called Star Wars: attack wing

They are clearly waiting until they release the ETA-2 (see "Painter wanted: Vader's New Ride" thread). That way he can look badass, be the first reprinted pilot, and drive he first cross over ship all at once.

Vader in just about any other ship could break the game. That's why the advanced sux! Vader would rule if it were correctly costed.

whoa did cubanboy take over Joe's account

No I had been up for like 19 hours because after my work day i could not go to sleep because I wanted to be awake and ready to receive my UPS shipment. and after UPS delivered my Mini Market order I went to bed.

I just got up after a nice seven hour sleep so I am good again. Now to get all the new goodies sorted.

Waiting for Wave Four to be delivered had me acting ( and feeling) like a kid on X-mas eve this week. I ordered everything on the first, and the biggie came today from MM, and the Amazon and CS orders are both due by Saturday. It is only six days, but this time is feels like six weeks.

:)^_^

Of course, he wouldn't necessarily have the same ability. We've yet to see the same pilot in two ships (although we've seen pilots both as crew and as pilots), so no way to tell.

I don't think a two-action defender is necessarily that powerful, though, if pointed correctly. The low-speed reds still stop you using your actions some of the time, and it's hard to shed stress if you use things like opportunist or daredevil.

I often wonder if it was really R2-D2 piloting that thing.

So my wonderful Wingers how do we point up a Vadar in a Deffendar?

Being reasonable and cool about it...speak on it.

The changes between the abilities in the pilots and astromechs we've seen as crew would suggest a pilot would have different abilities in different ships.

How I did it:

Take the cost of Vader at 29 and subtract the cost of the lowest TIE Advanced, A Tempest Squad at 21 points, from it. Then take the 8 points left and add it to the low end Defender, a Delta Squad at 30. This would put Vader at 38 points in a Defender.

I'd like to see focus and target lock after White-K turning though. Hilarity ensues!

Vader, same ability, in a Defender. As we all agree, an engine upgrade is very powerful on a Defender, so we can assume he'll be moving like a knight on a chess board every turn and still gets to focus, roll or TL. So, of course you'll fly him with Outmaneuver for the Wedge Effect. Drop in an HLC.

Let's stay with the 38 points starter. +3 for the EPT, +7 for the HLC and 4 for the EU. Makes for 52 points of sheer badassery headed your way.

I have you now indeed.

You can't just sum up pilots and ships. Or put Vader on a phantom right ? 33 points for a phantom with 2 actions, potential PS 11 seems fair game, right ?

I don't know, but i have a feeling that the proton rockets will force him out of retirement.

You know Vadar was a bad bad bad MF'er in A New Hope.

:D

I would put Vader in the Executor, pre-Endor that is, I think there he could throw some punches. ;)

You know we can do anything at your houses.

;)

I have (happily) paid $2,500 for all of my X-Wing Pretties, and yet here I have one of the main pilots in the whole game being a drag and a wimp, when I know **** well he he should be a terror that will kill at least twice his points value in any game.

Sure you can get him, but it should be a real job of work to do that IMO.

As he is now, Lord Darth Vader is an embarrassment.

:o:huh::angry:

Me no like dat...

Maybe the Emperor forced him to fly an advanced. As a Sith Lord you never want your number two to be overly powerful.

Well - at the time, there wasn't anything else other than the stock fighter. I think he does end up in a Defender during the TIE Fighter games, but then, so does Maarek Stele.

Yeah man that is what I have been feeling too. No mean vibe to FFG because our bad ass boys made this in the first place. The time has come however to fix a few things. They have started this fixing with some of the neat new cards available in wave four. The good news is there are fixes within the postings we have made right here. darth-vader.jpg NO WAY should Vadar ever be a wimp on the table.NOT E-Vah!

Cool image but that's not Lord Vader!!!

That's wimpy "lets ride on nerfs, oh Anny, Noooo!!" b-arch teets

James earl Jones for the win

Hayden WHO?

Hayden WHO?

Pannetiere.

Yum.

Id put a 52 point Vader in a Tie Defender on the table.

House rule scenario time!
