New obsession "Storage"....

By Wayne Argabright, in X-Wing

Currently trying to figure out how to store ALL the new wave 4 ships (6 each with 8 zs) + a Tantive and TWO Transports along with rebel aces (3 sets) AND anticipating wave 5 storage options... All in ONE BF shield bag... Am tempted to go up to a pack 720 but its sooooo expensive!!!! and I already have one shield bag and just think it would be cool to have one bag per faction! the Tantive wont fit in a shield bag "Officially" using the custom foam app.. however actually measuring it with the shield bag i currently have It should fit just fine... but will have to get creative with the movement base storage. etc.. Wife says i am obsessed as i am constantly measuring stuff and messing around on the battle foam web app!! currently my shield bag holds two treys or Rebels and two Imperials. so my New bag will be the same as long as I use the same thickness foam. I can just swap it around and have an all Rebel bag and an all Imperial bag... The reason i went with a BF shield bag in the first place is that it was actually cheaper than many of the "Home made" concoctions once you figured in Time, amount of storage space, protection, looks, price of foam etc... My one big concern is what new BIG ships for the imperials will be coming out eventually? as currently anything BIGGER than a Tantive will not fit in a Shield bag!!!

I have the exact same issue with storage, difficult to know what to buy since wave 5 is at the corner. What I am tempted to do is all pluck foam with their 432 bag 1" layer for small ships, 2" for large ships, which will include wave 5, and 4" for huge ships, which works for the tantive and leaves room for the upcoming imperial huge ships. This solution should be flexible enough for some time...

Getting a Shield Bag during Battlefoam's sale this weekend. Sent an e-mail to the production guys at Battlefoam and they responded that they could do a Tantive IV on a Shield tray.

Oh man, a BF sale... gonna get on that. I want to make all custom trays that are super efficient though.

Someone posted a thread for their super efficient tray creation, I don't know if it was here, BGG, or Teamcovenant, but I'd really love to find it.

I have a shield and a sword bag too and for me i find the sword to be the better bag as its easier to transport and the pockets on the front are sooooooo **** handy.

Have all that's in my sig in that sword apart for the transports and the blockade runner and heaps of room for my wave 4 ships that Im yet to bother unboxing...... :-P

Not to sure whAt to do with them though.....maybe that's what i will do with my as yet unused shield bag
