Firespray and Tactician

By Danath "ATLAS", in X-Wing Rules Questions

I can't seem to find a clear explanation. I may need to wait until I'm home and can pull out the Firespray rulebook.

Tactician just says within your arc. Does that include the aux arc?

Thanks,

J

arcs are considered the printed arcs on the base card.

I have to assume it is both arch

Otherwise I would think it may say something like your primary arch?

Not too sure I kind of wondered in this as well

Backstabber is our go-to reference for this one.

If it's a printed arc on the base, it counts as an arc, whether it's primary, auxiliary, whatever. So Tactician can indeed stress someone while firing backwards.

Should have just looked in the FAQ. Quoting below. I think I agree unless an FAQ later changes it.

AUXILIARY FIRING ARC
Some ships (such as the Slave I) have an auxiliary firing arc identified by
dotted lines printed on its ship token. These ships also have a unique primary
weapon icon printed on their Ship cards. When attacking with its primary
weapon, a ship with this icon may attack an enemy ship that is within Range
1–3 and inside its standard or auxiliary firing arc.
When attacking with a secondary weapon, the ship must still target an enemy
ship inside its standard firing arc (unless otherwise specified on the Upgrade
card).
“Backstabber”
“Backstabber” only rolls the additional attack
die granted by his ability if no portion of his
base is inside any of the printed firing arcs on
the defender’s ship token.
A ship with a turret primary or a secondary
weapon is still affected by Backstabber if no
portion of his base is inside the printed firing
arcs on the defender’s ship token.
Added some emphasis on Backstabbers' 'any'.

FYI:

Here is a quick easy one. For Tactician or R7-T1 is the aux arc on a BH considered the ship's firing arc?
Thanks,

Yes; as well as Outmaneuver. Auxiliary arc is still an “arc”.

So if im reading this correctly, You can not Out-maneuver the Falcon due to its 360 Firing Arc?

The falcon does not have a 360 arc. It has an forward arc and the ability to shoot outside of it.

Thanks ... This games truly loves its technical language.
