Toying with (non-Force) empathy.

I'm toying with the idea of putting together a Zeltron species option for my players to use. I've seen the one in the USM, and I may use it, but I'm also brainstorming my own take. I'll start with Empathy:

Empathy: A Zeltron can use her Perception as the Opposing Skill in any Influence check (see Social Skill Interactions, page 113 of EotE Core Rulebook) so long as the acting character is within Short range and is not a Droid.

How does that look? It allows a skill substitution, but it doesn't add in extra rolls (something I will not go for). I could instead opt for something like adding a free rank of Nobody's Fool.

Instead of calling out droids specifically the core rule book typically goes with anyone who is immune to force powers. If you allow this ability you decrease the strength of people who specifically went a certain direction to be immune to such things. While it is unlikely that it would be unbalancing if my character were affected by this with no recourse I would be peeved.

I've also considered just giving them the Sense Emotions talent and allowing them to ignore the restriction requiring a Force Rating to use it. This is the KISS approach.

As a player I would find this a much more pleasing solution.
