So the other day my brother randomly decided to buy me a CR90, his reason being he felt bad that I always lose to my friend (I hate TIE swarms but really my rolls with dice are always horrible) Anyways after declaring him the new ultimate power in the universe I quickly set to opening my new epic ship. While looking at it I noticed that one of the double turbolasers was put together wrong. One side of it was locked down into place the other wasn't and it was glued (or however they put their ships together) I have no experience with taking apart any kind of miniature(although I would love to learn how I just don't wanna start with a $90 ship) So what methods do you use when you come across something like this? My friend who plays warhammer suggested using a blowdryer or boiling water but I don't want to damage the thin turbolaser barrels. Any help would be most welcome.
Question on a repair
I'd also like to point out that most small deformities don't usually bother me but this is quite noticeable.
I would love to offer you some advice on how to proceed, but this sort of job is always a " you've got to see the problem first in order to fix the problem ". And by that, I mean having the model in my hands. I'm assuming you won't want to ship it to New Zealand for me to have a look, so try looking for a local hobby shop that specializes in plastic kitsets and see if they can put you on to an experienced modeller in your community. They know their regular customers and who might be able to help you.
Good luck.
Edited by ParravonWith a firm grip wiggle the piece off. Use super glue to reattach. Don't worry if you break a support pin, the glue will hold it firmly on. What you do need to worry about is breaking the barrel off the gun, glue won't save you on this. If it helps, a half turn will allow you to safely remove the upper and lower turrets from the main hull of the ship (same with radar dish).
You can try looking at Crabok's unboxing video of the Tantive on youtube. His turrets popped of so you can see how they are put on.

Also, Millenium Falsehood broke down a Tantive to instal fibre optics on the engines and he may have pictures of the turrets as he took it apart. I sent him a message to come here and see if he can advise any.
Edited by SergovanThank you for all the replies! I have the turret off the main ship its the chassis of the turbolaser on the small base that screws into the main ship. I have tried to wiggle it a bit but was always afraid that if I put to much pressure on it something else would snap but I will try again.
Or, contact FFG customer service. There are many on here who rant and rave about how awesome they are.
So I contacted FFG customer service and they said they do replace the smaller components of the Tantive IV including the turbolasers. But the status of the item is closed. Does that mean they will send a replacement part? I'm just a tad bit confused on the wording I guess.
Can you post a picture of the problem? I think I can help you fix it, but I'm not sure what the issue is.
