Which Expansions are Most Complementary?

By superdave, in X-Wing

There are lots of threads about "what ship should I buy?" and "no, really, what ship should I buy?"

So for the X-Wing player who's looking for the purchase with the greatest impact on his or her existing collection, I'm trying to figure out which expansions are the most complementary; that is, which expansions give you those most stuff to use with the stuff you already have. (I assume players already have a core set.)

I'm open to suggestions and additions!

Y-Wing, X-Wing:

share astromechs between the XW and YW

B-Wing, E-Wing:

each ship has torpedoes and a system slot, and the included cards for each expansion are different

Rebel Aces, Lambda Shuttle:

the shuttle gives more than it gets, with additional crew, cannon, and system options for the BW

Imperial Aces, Firespray:

The Firespray has 2 Stealth devices for the Ints, and VI if they need it, plus the 2 best cannons for itself. the Ints have 2 PTL and Hull upgrade. The three of ships can make a fun, solid squad.

Phantom and Imperial Aces. I flew them yesterday at a local league and had a blast dogfighting all over the table.

This coming from a guy that flew nothing but Rebels since I got the game 6 months ago.

Phantom & HWK: lots of interesting crew options?

E-wing Y-wing - new droids and cheap torps make Y happy camper

Also Outrider - B-wing. You can finally get HLC without buying imps

So my thought process is this: which expansions give the most and best new stuff to play with assuming another expansion?

YT-1300 and Slave I: lots of crew members to trade
