Non-star wars characters in your games

By Rakaydos, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

If anyone had read the Lt Leary series by David Drake... I'm putting some of the characters from there as supporting NPCs in my AoR game.

Lt Adel Mundy, Imperial Inteligence... and a daughter of Alderaan. She's defecting, and bringing a Nebulon B (that the PCs will be based on once the defection is complete) under the command of a Kuat nobleman, Daniel Leary. (Tovera is his Kuati Telbum, and Hogg is an alderainian retainer)

Anyone else have notable out-of-setting characters?

John Geary from The Lost Fleet setting might be an interesting one to try, and could be an interesting point for a campagin setup.

Have him be a Judaical Forces or Republic allied local defense fleet Captain who was escorting a convoy either in the first days of the Clone Wars, or in the tensions leading up to the war. His convoy gets hit by Seps, his ship makes a heroic stand to buy time for the convoy to escape, and while many of his crew were rescued his escape pod was captured by the Seps and he was frozen in carbonite. He's believed to have been killed during the battle and his last stand made him a legend.

The ship his slab was on got hit during the war and his slab fell out of a hull breach. An Alliance Task Force, whether from the main fleet, or the sector force for his home sector stumbles across the slab during a mission and revives him. He's told what has happened since his freezing and joins the Alliance, being commissioned at his old rank. The force he's with flies into an ambush and he ends up senior surviving officer, all the other Captains in the fleet were killed or rendered comatose, though there could be some Lieutenant Commanders or Commanders who were the commanding officers of ships before the ambush and he has to try to lead the fleet to a secret base either in a very distant portion of the sector or another sector entirely with the Imperial Starfleet hounding his fleet's every move. The PCs could be officers on his flagship, pilots attached to the fleet, or COs of other surviving ships in his fleet, whether they were commanding the ship before the ambush or promoted due to being the ranking surviving officer on board.

And I love your idea for how to bring the Leary characters in Rakaydos

I've considered translating the major characters of Farscape over. Rigel as a Toydarian, Dargo as a Aqualish, etc.

I use characters from Chrono Trigger/Cross Series, Megaman X and a few more. I always wanted to use character from Doctor Who, but I still have no idea about where to use them XD

Due to a running gag in my gaming group, I have at least one Xenogears character appearing, an Aqualish captain of a salvage barge, Walir Uzman (because Aqualish can never escape the walrus jokes).

I'm also basing an Imperial Customs agent off of Inspector Javert, from Les Miserables.

In a "Most Dangerous Game" type episode, the bad guy was based off Safari Joe from an old Thundercats episode.

When the PCs are captured and forced to fight in the arena, they are helped to escape by a man who turns out to have been a General in the armies of the Empire and one of the last honorable men in the organisation, but who was betrayed and consigned to die in the games.

"My name is Maxim Decim Meridius, commander of the Armies of the Expanse, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true Republic. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

I'm rather notorous for doing this:

The leader of a droid uprising was refered to as The Lord of Blades.

The party ran across a dying HRD solider named Roy.

They had to out manuever a local planetary law enforcement posse led by a Marshal Raynor.

The party salavaged much need parts for their ship from a giant derelict, whose corridors had scores of dead aliens creatures and a few giant humans, or near humans, with a double headed bird across the breast plate of their armor.

A Captain Ironfounderson commandeered their ship in pursuit of a rather nasty criminal. He was very polite and apologetic about it and they were fairly compensated, but the party was stuck in the rather smelly spaceport for over a day.

I also toss is a few bit characters and NPC's from other settings and campaigns occasionally, but they don't bear naming here since no one would know them. :)

Yeah both group I've been part of do this a lot. Recently we took a job helping to hijack a frigate for a black market ship dealer to reduce he obligation of many of our party members. The dealer than sold that that frigate to our privateer band from an old Saga campaign.

And back in the old D6 days during a Dark Empire era campaign the party was attached to a fleet commanded by one of the PCs from one of our Rebellion era campagins and his old ship was still in his fleet though it wasn't his flagship.
