Pilot Building Forum Game

By Nyxen, in X-Wing

I think I'd agree with 35 points, but I'd up him to PS9 at the same time. The ability is actually more powerful than it first looks, because you're both eliminating good rolls and shutting down enemy TLs (as dice can't be rerolled twice), and combined with the cloak you'd have a rather elusive shuttle.

Speaking of high-ranking shuttles:

Grand Admiral Thrawn, Lambda, PS9

At the start of the activation phase, you may receive 1 stress token to assign 1 stress token to an enemy ship in your firing arc.

Edited by DR4CO

Going to say 35 on that mainly because the shuttle has a terrible time shedding stress.

X-wing or crew, Narwa'Aven same stats as a Red Squad

If you need to roll to resolve a rules dispute you may choose to refill your dice.

23 Points for X-Wing. 1 For Crew

X-Wing Pilot (E-Wing?)

PS 7

Gavin Darklighter

When attacking within range 2, you may receive a stress token to make a second attack against another target at range 1 from the original target. You cannot use this ability if you already have a stress token.

My take on the Darklighter Spin.

28 Points for the X-Wing 35 for the E-Wing.

Pash Cracken A-Wing

PS 7

When defending you may spend an evade token to choose any or all attack dice. The attacker must re-roll the chosen dice.

25 points. Very powerful ability, essentially a reverse target.

Ben Kenobi

Y-Wing

At the beginning of the activation phase, choose an enemy ship at range 1-3. If the chosen ship has a stress token, you may adjust its dial to any non-red maneuver.

EPT

29 for the Awing and really good.

Borsk Fey'lal

PS 5 Z95

EPT

Other player must play with all dials of ships with equal or lower PS face up.

Edited by Ryther

Spike, that ability could break the game. It denies the edges to your opponent since lots of non red maneuvers will take a ship off the board, or put them in a place where they will be forced to fly off a turn later.

100 points.

I would say Ben Kenobi, PS 6 - Y wing, EPT, when an enemy ship acquires a target lock on Ben he may roll one defense dice, on a focus or evade the target lock is lost.

This is not the Y-Wing you are looking for.

Alternately, Ben may discard his astromech upgrade to discard one damage card the round it is dealt.

23 Points for X-Wing. 1 For Crew

My take on the Darklighter Spin.

Ok, ok, I know we're all doing this for fun, but I can't help but be a bit incredulous. They already have a pilot who can attack twice, and they make him sacrifice an entire turn to do it. You think a stress token is mitigation enough? Can I make a suggestion? you seem to like the idea of affecting targets at range 1 as an attack instead of defense. How about:

After modifying your attack dice, you may instead apply the results of your attack to another target at range 1 of the defender as long as that ship is within your firing arc (the new ship rolls evade results as normal).

You could play it safe and attack a low agility ship, but if you roll really well you could apply the attack to a higher agility ship that you want to hit even more. It keeps the flavor without breaking things.

Interceptor pilot

P.s 5

Once per round when defending, You may reroll a number of evade dice equal to your range to the attacking ship.

Hmm. That's a pretty cool new spin. 23 points, and an EPT slot?

"Grumble"

TIE Phantom - PS 6

When defending, if you cancel all attack results with defense dice, the attacking ship receives 1 stress token.

(hey look, the pilot and the player's faces match!)

25 points for the interceptor

Heres two

"Silence"

Tie Phantom

PS-9

EPT

Ability-Immediately befor you reveal your maneuver, you may perform one free action. You then skip your "preform action" step

"Harmony"

Tie Phantom

PS-8

EPT

Ability-You may equip three mondifcations to this ship

Edited by Lord Dust

37 for Silence since it basically is just building in an advanced sensor

37 for Harmony, that is another "broken" ship waiting to happen, VI+Stygium+ACD+Recon Spec+ say a stealth device, thats basically 5 static agility dice plus a focus+an evade every turn as well as shooting before every non VI ship in the game to get the cloak up, it will be expensive but there isn't really a good way to stop it.

"Flutter"

Phantom PS8 EPT

when you decloak you may use the 1 straight template instead of the two straight template

31 points for "Flutter" similar to "Echo"

Palpatine

Shuttle

PS-6

Ability- All others ships you control cost 3 less points

I'd say 34, 33 if it's got an EPT.

TIE Bomber- PS 6

You may exclude 1 friendly ship from the effect of any bomb token you placed this turn.

37 for Silence since it basically is just building in an advanced sensor

It's more than that, actually. It's a built-in Advanced Sensor that you can stack another one on top of to give you a Stress-free Push the Limit.

TIE Bomber- PS 6

You may exclude 1 friendly ship from the effect of any bomb token you placed this turn.

20 without an EPT, 21 with one. The ability is good, but in practice it would likely be an insurance policy against mistakes or allow you to make the occasional hyper-aggressive play.

Juno Eclipse, TIE Fighter, PS8, EPT
After you perform an attack, you may spend a Focus token to make the next ship that attacks the defender this round roll 1 extra attack dice.

Juno at 18 points.

Voort "Piggy" SaBinring (X-wing, PS 7, EPT): after acquiring a Target Lock, choose one friendly ship at Range 1. That ship may perform a free Barrel Roll or Boost Action.

17 for Juno

Eresi Dlarit, TIE Interceptor PS 6

During the Activation stage, you may receive a stress token to look at an enemy ship within range 2 and with a higher pilot skill's dial. If it is a bank or turn, you may rotate it to the same speed bank or turn in the opposite direction

Juno at 18 points.

27 and very much in character and Piggy.

30 for Erisi and that's an insanely op ability even at that cost.

Tycho Celchu

PS8 X-Wing

EPT Slot

When attacking, you may a focus token to give the defender one stress token. If you are outside the defender's firing arc, the defender recieves 1 addtional stress token.

27 points to make them fly in rocks.

Kasan Moor

X-Wing

PS-8

EPT

Ability-Action: You may assign up to 4 Evade tokens to any ships in range 1-2. Then gain stress token.

Bonus card!:

Yoda- Crew, Only for Rebels, I am

When target of attack you become, assign one focus or evade token to your ship, you may. Mmmm... mmmmm.

Strong with this one, the Force is.

4 Points he is.

Edited by Lord Dust

For Kassan are you going with 1) assign up to 4 evade tokens to up to 4 allied ships or 2) you may assign a total of 4 evade tokens to one or more allied ships in range? Either way borked. 32pts to give your squad DR 4 every round? Get it down to up to 2 allied ships in range 1-2 may gain an evade token and you're safe at 28.

Mine: (plus a bonus one because dash stole my thunder!).
Rakky Wistol, Awing (PS3 no EPT): you may ignore obstacles during your movement and activation phases.

Rakky the Grey, interceptor/fanblade pilot (PS 6 W/EPT): when you choose Barrel roll or boost you may instead place a 1 straight or 1 bank maneuver template touching an obstacle in range 1. That obstacle performs the manuever. If this would cause the obstacle to overlap another ship, that ship rolls 1 red dice and suffers the result.

I have like 5 more off the top of my head.

Edited by Rakky Wistol

Rakky the Grey is surprisingly good. Assuming his PS is about 6/7, I'd rate that at 25 points (ish?)

Ooryl Qrygg - X-Wing - PS7

When a friendly ship at range 1-2 takes a target lock action, they can use the base of this ship to measure the lock instead.

25 points. Not an especially scary ability most of the time, but would make a good 'forward scout' for a Z-95 wing....

Tag & Bink - PS7*

Rebel

Lambda Shuttle

When attacking or defending, you may reroll one defense die showing a focus token**

* Tag is at least as good a pilot as people think Lando Calrissian is, after all.

** Only a reroll because they're not as force sensitive as Luke.

28 points for them.

Valin Draco (PS 6, EPT): at the Start of the Activation Phase, choose one enemy ship at Range 1–3 and state aloud what maneuver you expect it to make. If you are correct, gain one attack die when firing and one evade die when defending from that ship.
