So here's the idea. Name a ship and give it a PS and a unique ability, then the next person gives their best attempt at a point value for it and submits their own.

To begin:

Y-Wing, PS 5, 'Successful hits with an Ion cannon turret deal two damage instead of one'

YT1300 PS3 (Princes Leia) You may have 3 crew members rather than 2 (no EPT)

I'll bite.

Points for your YT-1300: 38

Mine:

TIE Advanced. PS 6. Has an EPT slot.

'When attacking, each uncanceled Critical Hit result deals the target a face up damage card'

Edited by Veldrin

25 points for the advanced.

Bomber P'S 6

When you take an action a friendly unit within range 1 may also take that action if it is capable of that action.

Edited by Stelar 7

23pts

(one point more than Jonus, as a slightly more versatile ability)

Firespray

PS4

You may fire secondary weapons from your aft firing arc as well as fore. No EPT

38 points (cause that would be crazy good)

Lambda PS5

You may treat red maneuvers as white.

Firespray: too much to work. Outrider title says this ability costs ~5 points (you lose some arc over a 360* turret but don't lose your primary shot), but that makes the PS 4 ship more expensive than higher-PS ships. Remember that a pilot ability is supposed to be worth 0-2 points (on top of the cost of the generic ship of that PS).

Han Solo

Z-95

PS 9

Defending ships do not get the bonus defense die at range 3.

That would be crazy good. maybe even a bit broken to be able to park your shuttle.. at least 29

Sorry but Han would have to have the same pilot ability as in the Falcon ;-) 20pts

Hm. On second thought, new version:

Han Solo

Z-95

PS 9, EPT

Once per round, when an enemy ship {at range 1-2 OR in your arc, can't decide which} completes their activation step you may change your maneuver dial.

(In the book Han was said to be so good at predicting an opponent's move that he appeared to be psychic.)

Y-Wing, PS8, EPT, "You may increase or decrease the range of turret attacks by 1."

That would be pretty strong, PTL and Blaster turret almost a mini YT makes. Hmm, 26?

TieAdvanced PS6 When attacking you can increase your primary weapon attack value by one. YOu must then decrease your agility value by two until the end of the round.

Basically a rework on the Expose card but it doesnt use you action and you still keep 3 green dice against higher skill pilots, as it kicks in when you attack. Pretty strong ability but then the TieAdvanced could do with something! If it is two strong then maybe decrease agility by 2?

B-Wing

PS 8

"When defending, if the attacker's attack value is 3 or more (including range bonuses), you may perform a free barrel roll action."

32 or 34, that would make a B-wing nearly impossible to land shots on with most of the ships in the game. However, you should word it to define the timing more specifically: "After defending against a ship wth attack value 3 or more..." or "Immediately before checking range while defending, if defending against....". Before the attack is 34, after the attack is 32.

X-wing, PS 4, "Runt" Ekwash: At the start of the combat phase, you may perform a free boost action.

Represents his initial berserker rage that he had while flying, before his wingmate managed to calm him down

I would add once per round with that Bwing ability as well, or it could get silly.

and 24pts for the TieAdvanced, although cool for the advanced is too cheap I think.

25. I'd almost be tempted to up the PS and make him 26, as it is basically a free Engine Upgrade. Either that or make the boost mandatory (obstacles willing) to better represent the berserker mode.

Ton Phanan, X-wing, PS6

When this ship is destroyed, choose a friendly ship at range 1-2. That ship may perform 1 attack.

27 for that X-Wing - more expensive than Garvan, ability has potential to be more powerful.

I would add once per round with that Bwing ability as well, or it could get silly.

Free actions are already once per round if it is the same action - as you would never be allowed to perform a barrel roll action twice in a round regardless.

E-Wing Pilot: Jean Grey PS 6

Friendly ships at range 1 may change one blank die to an Eye symbol when attacking.

33 Points.

TIE Fighter, PS 7

When you would gain a bonus evade die from any source that is not an upgrade, you gain 2 bonus evade dice instead.

Wow I want that TIE. 19 pts.

I'll give TIE Advanced love, even though I don't have one:

TIE Advanced

PS 4

"When you activate an action from your action bar, it activates twice. "

I am not sure I would want to barrel roll twice.. Still thst makes for absurd arc dodging. Call it 26.

X wing, ps 6 gain the barrel roll ability but use the 1 bank template for all barrel rolls. After taking this action gain one stress.

Xwing books have both Corran and Wedge "skew turning" with their " esthetic rudders" all the time.

Well, call it 23 for a red squadron, 24 with veteran instincts (PS6), 26 for expert handling (to give him the barrel roll he doesn't normally have) and 27 because you're plagarising Lorrir's ability, which is worth more than a standard barrel roll - especially on a normally unmanouvrable X-wing.

For me, Storm Squadron's named pilots (from Star Wars galaxies)

TIE Advanced - Akal Colzet - PS4

"When you perform an evade action, other friendly ships within range 1 with the evade action on their action bar also gain an evade token"

(Colzet is a pilot instructor in storm squadron. Yes, it's a **** powerful ability but that's why his pilot skill is low)

TIE Advanced - Commander Alozen - PS6

"When attacking, If you hit with a primary weapon attack, cause one additional point of damage to the defender"

(Alozen is Storm Leader and his advanced has overcharged - but no more accurate - lasers)

Edited by Magnus Grendel

I like this thread!

Akal Colzet, 31 pts (idk, super broken, maybe just 1 range one ship)

Commander Alozen- 26 pts

mine:

Tie Fighter, Force Controlled Pilot unique, PS 0

If you performed a straight maneuver this turn you may add 1 to your attach dice for the round. If you performed a straight maneuver this turn and the number of damage cards assigned to you equals or exceeds your hull value, you are not destroyed until the end of the round. When this pilot's ship is destroyed you must move this pilot card to another ship you control.

Edited by Bathickey

16 points. It will always be the last ship to die. I'd be running it over Asteroids to put it on Phantoms.

PS1

Firespray

Young Boba Fett

When firing at this ship recive one ion token.

50 points, way too tanky.

Night terror tie advanced

Ps 7

When ever you attack an enemy defender receives one stress token.

32 points, the free ion damage regardless of a hit puts him way over the power scale for an advanced.

Lt. Loran (Y-wing pilot, Face's father)

PS 5, no EPT

When attacking with a turret weapon, you may change one of your (focus) results to a (hit) result.

Idea being, this guy wants to run blaster turrets, so you incentivise it by not requring a focus token on 1 hit. Makes BTurrets more viable
