Since it's the same system, what tables will be different on it? Besides the adventure and GM book that is coming with it, why do I need the new screen?

There's the "new rules for squads and squadrons" mentioned in the product description. Presumably, the information on the GM screen will be tailored more specifically to AoR campaigns.

Either way, no way to know til someone actually has the product in hand, come July 3rd-ish.

I had hoped they would drop the "these are the dice and these are the symbols" stuff, but its visible in the preview. So, honestly, I don't expect any change at all. We'll see though.

The new squads rules should come in the adventure book like the nemesis leveling rules did for the EOTE GM Kit.

Hmm without seeing it I assume you can always mess with your players' heads by using the Age of Rebellion screen with an Edge of the Empire game?

Now that might be worth finding out if they fall for that!

If anyone reading this gets both and has the chance, try this out it will be interesting to see if they react differently!

Anyway back to the question...

Duty instead of obligation rules I'd expect but will wait a few months before buying this myself as I'm more inclined towards Edge purchases at the moment.

As the guy who wrote the adventure/rules that come with it, all I can say is that I worked as hard as I could to pack 20-25 dollars (depending on if you buy online or at your FLGS) worth of awesome into the packet alone. Then again, I might be a bit biased.

I am picking it up for the extra stuff. Just not sure how useful the screen itself will be if you already have the EotE screen.

The picture is better. I'm hoping it has more of a focus on ship combat, where the edge of the empire is personal scale.

The GM screens are identical, just a different color and AoR page listings. My GM switched over because he liked displaying Darth Vader more than Boba Fett. There is an adventure book, which I presume has the rules "new rules for squads and squadrons".

I dropped my EOTE screen at our game session on Monday and it kinda tore. Looks like I might start using the new one then!

Got my GM screen today. It's basically the same, just with a new adventure and other rules/stats.

Well worth it I think, artwork is great and the added adventure gives tips on how to run every AoR adventure so far as a full campaign.

Me too. The only people who might need to see that are the players... and they can't see it!

That bit could have been a 4x4" paper insert dropped inside the package, that the GM could plonk down onto the table for whoever needs it. As it is now... well, I guess it's a great place to put any personal post-it notes a GM may require!

The weapons tables are different. Otherwise they are the same. And the little books are different.

The mini rigs (and the Imperial Troop Transport) were always my favorite toys when I was a kid and I was thrilled to bang out stats for the in WEG and use them in my game. I so totally need to get my hands on this now.

That's awesome, man, happy to be of service! I'm a big fan of obscure EU stuff, so I try to sprinkle a lot of this kind of stuff in. I'll probably do an end-notes for this adventure, similar to what Dan Wallace and Jason Fry do for the essential guides, basically to just track where all the EU references are.

That is awesome, as I am a fan of those from years ago as well. Is this only listed in the GM screen, because I flipped through the Core book to look for the ship, but sadly found that it is not listed. I passed on the screen because I have the EotE one, but I may have to pick it up now...yes, it's the little things like that to put me over the edge of wanting to now pick it up.

Koraldon, you might want to go through it and downgrade a few of the checks if they seem too high for your group. However, generally speaking, there is no reason you can't continue on to use the pre-gen characters with the beginner box and run the AOR GMK adventure afterward.

Well I ordered my copy of this today, didn't get to read about the spoiler above until afterwards have to say I'm now wondering why TIE Fighters don't have rear view mirrors with "Things are much closer than they appear..." ala Jurassic Park!

Might pick up the Invasion of Arda next unless the Guardians play set gets a release date in September!
