This is solely based off of the Phantom upgrades Stygium particle accelerator and advanced cloaking device. One is phantom unique and the other is not. Coincidence? That's up to the devs I suppose.
Stealth-X probable for upcoming waves?
They already exist. Put a Stealth Device on an X-Wing. Bam! Stealth X-Wing.

The Advanced Cloaking Device, if put on any ship, would grant any ship the ability to cloak. Hence, Phantom only.
The Stygium Particle Accelerator is triggered by a cloak/decloak, so only a ship which an already cloak will get any benefit from it. So no real need to make the SPA Phantom-only.
As to whether we'll see another cloaking ship... <shrug> Who knows? But I wouldn't count on it. The by-now infamous Stealth-X didn't actually have a cloaking device. The Phantom is pretty unique in that regard, for small ships at least.
Too bad ACD is phantom only, Han Cloaks First anyone?
Geek reflex on.
Actually he'd cloak last because it's an action.
Geek reflex off.
Edit: Ok, fine, it involves shooting.

I'd certainly like to see it, but it's a bit... Niche? Not exactly needed?
Rather see a Missile Boat or something with a tractor beam.
Pretty thorough thread. Aminar debunked my speculation pretty early.
I do hope we see Stealth-X's. It'd be neat.
Anyone know what they're from? I've only recently started reading the books. From what I've been told at my FLGS, the concept behind Stealth X's was that they lacked any sort of systems. and were flown by Jedi via the force.

There from the 9 book Legacy of the Force series, which takes place I think about 30 years after episode 6. That's where I first heard of them anyway.

Two words:
Rouge. Shadow.

I think you mean Rogue Shadow. Is the Rouge Shadow the name of a strip club or burlesque show? If not it totally should be!
Edited by EltnotThe Stealth X was a Jedi-only ship as it carried no communications systems or secondary weapons launcher. Jedi could communicate through a force meld and launched "shadow bombs" -- proton torpedoes propelled by the force so that the exhaust trail wouldn't give the projectile's path away. They were likewise painted with a special material that absorbed radar (sound familiar?) and had a unique fuel formula that dampened the engine glow. Jedi pilots first used them to relay Vong fleet movements back to Jedi fleet officers on the bridge of capital ships.
As such, they'd have no place in the XWM flight system. Even the average Jedi pilot amongst non-force users would become fairly high PS. The whole use of Stealth X's was first implemented because the Vong were decimating New Republic forces and Jedi pilots could sneak in. Later they were used in combat but, since they had no comms, they couldn't coordinate with friendly forces and so flew detached from the main force.
Stealth X's would be therefore a combination of unique X-wings and Jedi, similar to the generic Red Squadron Pilot. But they'd have to carry no EPT or upgrades that implied communication systems, couldn't use target lock (since they guided the missiles with their minds), and have to be immune to target locks themselves. Perhaps an X-wing with a higher point cost, 3-4 agility, evade instead of TL, a minimum PS of 6, and strictly focus-based pilot abilities. Still, it's a niche ship that would have no Imperial counter. FFG would be better off saying Jedi pilots (real Jedi, not Rebel Luke from the core set), if released in the future, gave an extra agility to whatever ship they appeared in similar to the way the YT-1300 has different stats for Han vs. ORS.
That.... sounds like a good reason why the EU was sent to the scrap yard.
The only other ship I can see cloaking in this game would be a title card for the Lambda shuttle.
*Emperor's Shuttle [cost 8]
Lambda Shuttle only. Title
This ship gains a [cloak] action on your action bar. This upgrade can only be equipped on a pilot with a skill of 4 or higher,
The shuttle sucks so bad positionally it needs all the help it can get. Being a large base means placement in the middle of those six asteroids is going to be tricky. Testing on how much this can abuse shuttle lists will determine if it's ever made or not.
Apart from that, no other ship in the Star Wars universe here should cloak. The Phantom must be unique. Sorry Rebels, enjoy your Advanced Sensor B-Wings in the meantime.
