So just wondering what people think of recon spec+PTL. Especially on a firespray you could double focus and take an evade action. Just curious what people think of this combo I'm sure it's being used somewhere and I'm not the first one to think of it.

It's #2 build for scarlet firesprays. People just love expert handling on them. If we ever get a more midrange Firespray pilot with an EPT and a decent ability I suspect we'll see it more. Mara jade is also lurking in the horizon now so recon might be on the decline.

I also run PTL and rec spec on firespray's and it also works wonders on MF title YT-1300's. The firespray take quite a bit of work to bring down when you turtle it up and it can still dish it out with two focuses.

That was my thought exactly. I was thinking of that with a defender and doom shuttle. The firespray and defender would hopefully strip shields so darth vader can activate. Meanwhile the firespray is a pain to take out.

I find that running a defensive firespray makes your opponent not want to target it early on because of the time it takes to bring it down. This is great in the late game because you still have one of the best ships in the game on the board. I agree that the firespray and defender combo will be nasty. Any time you put your opponent in a position where he has to make a tough choice he is likely to make mistakes. I think a firespray/defender/shuttle list could be very hard to kill with 26 hits. I usually avoid 3 ship lists but those are three tough nuts to crack.
