Wes Janson's ability????

Wes Janson's ability:

"after you perform an attack, you may remove 1 focus, evade, or blue target lock token from the defender."

the question..

if you make an attack with Wes, do you remove the defender's token before they roll the agility dice?

any clarification would be hot!!

No, they don't lose the tokens until after the attack is completed. That means going though all the steps, including rolling defense dice and assigning any damage.

So Wes' ability does pretty much nothing for him, but rather is about helping who ever shoots next, or removing the TL from the defender so it can't shoot a missile/torp at someone else.

ok! thanks! thats what i thought but it was contested in my last game.

It goes very well with opportunist on another pilot with a lower skill.. Rebels do the support thing really well!

For example

Wes with Veteran Instincts (almost a must to get the most of his ability)

then Wedge with Opportunist to shoot after wes, then all the others under them in pilot skill.

Maybe a good Firespray killer!?

Cool idea! I think I'm gonna steal that. For some reason I only figured out to use opportunist for hunting down huge ships.

I like the coran idea too! Or Craken and another z-95 for a 4 ship build? Or even wes. wedge and two-three z-95(sorta swarmy)
