Three E-wing's?

By Red Winter, in X-Wing

Wondering if anyone had tried something similar:

Etahn (PTL, R2)

Blackmoon (PTL, R2-D6)

Knave (FCS, R3-A2)

The biggest drawback is the low PS on average, but the E-wing offers so much in terms of maneuverability and firepower that it may be worth a shot.

I really like that Corran can take two attacks some turns. It can sometimes make up for only having 3 ships, especially when you need to squeeze in that last hit to clear that high priority or durable enemy. Etahn also has a great support ability.

Try this:

Corran Horn

++Fire Control System

Etahn Abaht

++Fire Control System

Blackmoon Squadron Pilot

I like the PS bid, but you could go to a Knave instead of a Blackmoon and get in another upgrade.

I think Corran is always gonna want FCS, so he can always modify his second attack

I flew him with Sensor Jammers and really loved it. He is an expensive ship and a little defensive upgrade protects the investment. Since he doesn't use his second attack that often I don't feel like he needs the free TL. I much prefer to just not spend my TL on the first shot if it will only re-roll one dice. Then you can spend the TL on the second attack.

Yeah, I thought about the Corran build with Etahn, but I wanted more upgrades to take advantage of the E-wing's versatility. I see your points.

I Think

Etahn+AdvSens

2 Blackmoons+AdvSens

I don't really know 100% why but I think the sensors will be really fun with that dial

Looks great but I'm not sure three ships can handle the meta. I like having that fourth ship and extra attack dice. Maybe the costlier ships are moving the meta to three ships?

Last night I had him with R2-D2 and FCS. I used his end phase attack every turn then got outa' there. If I was down on shields I'd green turn with R2-D2 and recover a shield.

FCS came in very handy. He managed to take out several ships and was only killed once (First round, forgot to R2-D2!) People commented on how annoying/hard to kill he can be.

Honestly, and this is me being an armchair quarterback, I think this is FFG trying to affect the meta so that 3-ship builds are more acceptable. Time, and play with the new ships will tell as to whether that actually happens. Then again, I could be completely wrong, and the new ships could be meant to see more time in Epic.
