Things to do with the Force

By Seiito, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

While I'm brainstorming:

Force Move + 3x Magnitude + Manipulate = Turn the safeties on enemy weapons on four at a time.

Requirement: 2 Force pips.

Force Move + Manipulate = Activate any grenades an enemy happens to be wearing in the open.

Requirement: 1 Force pip.

Force Sense + Upgrade Ability + Double Aim = 4 Blue added to combat checks

(+Precision blaster pistol/rifle + Quick Strike 2 = 7 Blue Dice for my scout)

Requirements: 2 strain + Commit one Force Die

Force Move + Pull + Strength 1 + Magnitude 1 = Bash two enemies together.

Requirement: 3 Force pips.

Influence basic + Strength Upgrade + Magnitude Upgrade x3 + Range Upgrade (Optional)

Inflict 2 Strain on four targets at once, possibly more if you've got a plethora of Force Points to work with since the basic power of Influence can be activated multiple times.

Cost: 2 Force Points, +1 FP for Range Upgrade, +1 FP to trigger the Magnitude Upgrades twice, then +1 FP for each additional 2 strain you want to inflict on the targets. Get a PC with Force Rating 4 and they could reliably wipe out a minion group each turn.

Enhance (Age of Rebellion)

Just the basic power can help you navigate difficult terrain aka freerunning/parkour* even if your Athletics skill pool isn't that great normally, as each FP gives you either a success (very good for opposed or competitive checks). Purchase the Control Upgrades for Coordination to became a limbo master, for Resilience to have ungodly stamina (great for drinking contests). The Control Upgrade for Brawl for your Bruce Lee impersonations (little guy that packs a heck of a wallop), made even more fun if you also have the upgrade to increase your Brawn by 1 as an Ongoing Effect. There's also the Force Leap branch of Enhance, which is great for doing long-distance leaps that would make a sentai hero envious.

*shouting "Parkour!" while doing so is not required, nor suggested after the first few instances. Though feel free to snark about your buddy's usage of Latin in his battle cries if he calls you on it.

I'm reminded of a thread on \tg\* where some of the members used the 3.5 rules to create a character that could take 10 on an escape artist check to climb inside someone** and destroy them from the inside-out. There are some uses of the rules that I never would have considered.

* Don't judge me!

** 3 guesses on how one might go about doing this.

Take the Gold in Curling at the next winter games?

* Don't judge me!

Too late....

Force Move: Basically circumvent the plot of any given episode of The Clone Wars.

Skin Game reference, right?
