Help me finish this list. "Corran, Wedge, _____"

By BahnCalamari, in X-Wing

I am looking for a new build for wave 4, I am thinking a hard hitting rebel list is what I am looking for. I have settled into this for what I would like for the core

REBEL SQUADRON (69 points)
Corran Horn - Fire-Control System (37)
Wedge Antilles - Outmaneuver (32)

Leaving me with 31 points for other things.

My current plan is

1 • Corran Horn - Fire-Control System (37)
2 • Wedge Antilles - Outmaneuver (32)
3 • Outer Rim Smuggler - Tactician - Anti-Pursuit Lasers (31)

I am debating between adding something like Blount and then fully loading Corran and Wedge, or maybe another x-wing like Biggs.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I am looking to actually use this list now - so no recommendations from Rebel Aces please.

Without Expert Handeling, Engine upgrade or R7-T1 a Xwing isn't going to outmaneuver very much... Especially Wedge, since your opponent is probably going to focus on him.

Biggs, he will take fire while and go down first and then your opponent is left with a very hard choice as to who to go after. Corran and wedge are hard to take down end game.

Ooh and I actually have an r7-t1 with my e-wing. Awesome

Good point.

So maybe something like

REBEL SQUADRON (97 points)

1 • Corran Horn - Fire-Control System (37)

2 • Wedge Antilles - R7-T1 - Outmaneuver (35)

3 • Biggs Darklighter (25)

Plus 3 points somewhere else.

put marksmanshipp on corran....he takes amrks as his action fires on target hopefully getting a hit or two and receives the free TL. then at the end of the combat phase you use his ability to fire again. this time you have TL AND marksmanship is still in effect!

Like Joostah stated, an x-wing is not a very maneuverable ship and as such outmaneuver is wasted points on a ship that will rarely, if at all; make use of it

outmaneuver was designed for the small nimble ships in mind such as interceptors and a wings that can make use of it for the majority of their shots

r7-t1 is a good choice for wedge because it brings him in nice and close and a good droid on any ship that can take it

you could go with VI on wedge now that phantoms will be everywhere and punish Whisper along with shooting before anyone else

Yup there is the list.

1 • Corran Horn - Marksmanship - Fire-Control System (40)
2 • Wedge Antilles - R7-T1 - Outmaneuver (35)
3 • Biggs Darklighter (25)

and my original idea

1 • Corran Horn - Fire-Control System (37)
2 • Wedge Antilles - Outmaneuver (32)
3 • Outer Rim Smuggler - Tactician - Anti-Pursuit Lasers (31)

I do like the biggs list though. Those extra upgrades on main 2 should make up for the loss of the big tank.

Wedge and Corran are both incredible finishers, but they need to be kept alive. Biggs is the ideal wingman for Wedge, but Corran can potentially go it alone as long as you keep him moving and out of arc.

I would potentially look to put an Engine upgrade and PTL on Corran. It makes him expensive, but the added action should make it incredibly easy to flank.

Corran - FCS - PtL - EU

Wedge

Biggs

2 points left. Two vanilla R2's to help the X-Wings clear stress, or maybe even something like Adrenaline Rush on Wedge for a one-time white K-turn.

Aside from needing to get him into position to work, there's a large number of common ships(YTs, B-wings, Y-wings, lamdas) where Outmaneuver is pretty much completely wasted on Wedge unless you happen to be firing at range 3. Personally out of new EPTs I think he's better served by Predator* which does partially make R7-T1 redundant. My personal buildout for Wedge going forward is probably going to be Predator and R2 astromech.

*always active even while stressed/blocked, doesn't consume an action, doesn't leave him stressed like taking PtL, almost as good as a target lock against the prevailing low PS/high ship count meta (Academy Pilots, Rookie X-wings, Blue Squadron, Gold Squadron, Omicron shuttles, Bandit Squadron(which will likely be popular), etc.)

Or if you wanted to try something a little different:

Corran + PTL + FCS + EU (44)

Wedge + R7-T1 + Hull (35)

Cracken + Draw Their Fire (20)

Corran should survive relatively well do to his extra maneuverability. Cracken will help keep Wedge alive a tiny bit longer while also providing him with some extra actions. There's even space for you to throw on a vanilla R2 unit to Corran to give him extra avenues for shedding stress, or leave it at 99pts if you want initiative.
