Multiple Toxic Tests?

By BlaxicanX, in Black Crusade Rules Questions

'sup, all. Just a quick question about weapons with the toxic rule.

The rules state that if a creature takes damage from an attack after TB and armor reduction, they have to make a toughness test, yadda yadda.

The question is, if a creature is hit, and wounded, by multiple attacks from a toxic weapon in a single round, does it have to make a toxic test for every attack that wounded it, or just one test at the end of the round?

So, for example, if I used lightning attack on a space marine with a plague sword (toxic 2) and scored five attacks, three of them getting through his TB and AP and scoring a wound, would the Space Marine therefore have to make three toughness tests, losing 1d10 wounds (and 1d5 strength because plague sword) for each test he fails?

Thanks for the help, fellas.

" Anyone that successfully deals damage to a Toxic creature must make a Toughness Test with a penalty equal to 10 times the number in parenthesis (X) or suffer 1d10 points of Damage (of the same type as the weapon which inflicted the hit) not reduced by armour or Toughness. For example a creature"

The first part, timing-wise is once the entire attack has been resolved. If you go by that alone it is one Toxic effect trigger per attack (not hit), per round.

You deal damage per hit, not per attack. Otherwise you would have to reduce massive damage from multiple hits with Toughness and Armour only once making an autopistol deadlier than legion meltagun in point-blank.

PS If you apply damage once per attack then lucky enough human Unarmed Master can totally RIP AND TEAR legion terminator to shreds with a single unarmed lightning attack. Wow.

One toxic test per wounding hit recieved. That simple.

PS If you apply damage once per attack then lucky enough human Unarmed Master can totally RIP AND TEAR legion terminator to shreds with a single unarmed lightning attack. Wow.

With Point Buy & Frenzy:

S: 80, Power Armour: +2, Crushing Blow +4, Bone petrifaction +2, Mark of Khorne +2, BQ Synthmuscle +4 = 1d10+22. Imagine that eight times against your terminator armour. 8d10 damage will indeed RIP AND TEAR your average terminator, if you assume they're about the same as grey knight terminators.

Of course, when the damage is applied to your typical T70, Machine (5) player character, things get a little dicier.

As for Toxic, I agree with the rest. Once per wounding hit.
