What's the significance of the number 12?

12 ships are a full squadron, very flavourful for epic. 12 is also the max # of any one small ship allowed in an epic tournament list. Plus, 12+30=42, which is the answer to life, the universe, and everything!

The thought also is that they'll put out enough of each ship to make wings (36), so I'll purchase a squadron of each release, to make them stand out from one another, in the case of Rebels at least. TIE Fighters will all look alike, for the ones I'm getting anyways.

Might I ask, what do you do for work that you can afford so many?? 48 x $15.00 (the going average where I live) is $720 just for Wave IV. Dude - that's a mortgage payment, or 2 car payments for me..

Edit: I have to agree with one of the previous posters - my wife would kill or castrate me if I spent that kind of coin in one shot on a game. Last time I spent so "frivolously" on myself was 6 years ago when I built me last gaming computer and spent $2200.00 on it.

Yes, I managed to get a game or two in every other week currently. When at home, they're in the closet.

But you can only fit 11 E-Wings and 10 TIE Defenders into an epic squad (300 points), and that's if you run the cheapest pilots with no upgrades.

So you've bought two more Defenders than you'll be allowed to play and one more E-Wing than you'll be allowed to play. Meanwhile, you're short one TIE Phantom — it looks like you have 11 instead of 12, and you will be able to play 12 in a 300-point epic squad.

I'm technically unemployed, and given a monthly stipend for babysitting/taking care of a family member who is very ill. There are some medical things that I have to do on a daily basis that make that stipend very well paid for. I also do not really buy much for other games I play, or much else for that matter. X-Wing is my purchasing hobby.

You can fly 12 in team epic format on one side over the span of two lists if you are having to play 2v1. Which, next week, I'm getting to play team epic handicapped!

Also not pictured are the E-Wing and the 3 other Defenders I opened last night at our bi-weekly game night, and the Phantom that I won at IA. Otherwise, this is the rest of my Wave 4

Meh. Not even enough to outfit a single Star Destroyer!!

On the other hand, he can't outfit a MC80 Mon Calamari Cruiser which also has a compliment of 72. I only counted 57, those A and B-wings are bringing your numbers down. But once you get your Rebel Aces you'll be fine.
