The Mini Market Delivery Watch Thread

By Desslok, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

I will say, they seem to have been somewhat behind the curve on this release. In the past, I've been able to get my book from Miniature Market a day or even two before the release date. This time, I got it from my other FLGS first (on July 3rd). It might be worthwhile to leave some (constructive) feedback about how this release has been handled. I've been told that the owner is pretty receptive to feedback, as long as it's not accusatory or rude. Hopefully they'll do better on the next one.

Still zero news on my MM order as well.

I could have pushed the Order button on Amazon after it arrived in stock and had it within the same time frame as I will get it from pre-order via MM which I placed the moment it went up.

<Shakes Vader fist>

There were a couple of people that had the Hired Gun book pre-ordered when they were moving that got screwed. Everyone else had the book and they didn't. I defended it as a one off, an anomaly thanks to the move, that I had good turnaround times before. Now. . . I'm thinking of taking those words back. This is really starting to piss me off.

Desslok, yeah, I got totally screwed on the Hired Gun book. So badly that long after it was in everyone else's hands (it seemed to me anyway) I cancelled my MM order and got it from Amazon in 2 days with Prime.

Sadly, it was that credit from the cancelled order that I used for my AoR pre-order... now to get screwed over again. This is definitely the last time.

I just checked my order on the website and it still says "Processing Pre-Order" which is what it has said since I placed the order months ago.

There is literally no customer incentive to pre-order from them. Especially since they have had my money all this time.

Just got my shipping notification. For the record, I ordered on March 31.

Now two more weeks of waiting begins! :P

Wow, they take money before a pre-order is shipped?!? Yuck.

Mine was the end of May - but still no sign of shipping. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow morning, I'll cancel and go with CSI instead.

Yeah, that's the one that that really torques me off about them (well, apparently the one OTHER thing, now) - payment upon ordering. It makes me VERY reluctant to pre-order from them a great distance out (or really, a short distance out too).

Well not to kick a space dog when he is down, but I ordered mine from CoolStuff Sunday when my GM said he wanted a book also so we could get the free shipping and it is supposed to be here Friday......

I just got my shipping notification from MM, so I'll probably have it this week sometime.

Next time I'll definitely go with CSI or just Amazon.

I actually don't mind that part too much. Pay n' forget. Then when the book is finally released months later, it feels like I'm getting it for free! :P

Okay, went and chatted with Mini Market. Here's what they have to say:

We received a small shipment of the Age of Rebellion items Thursday, with the large part of the shipment scheduled to arrive this week. As soon as the shipment arrives, we will ship out the orders as quickly as possible.

Well, looks like Cool Stuff for me! Order canceled!

Yah, unless the business goes under in the interim, and then I guess that's how they get to feel with your money.....

I had the book and GM kit in my MM on-line shopping cart for a few days last week while I was visiting family in Washington, and was hemming and hawing about what else to order to bring the total up to get the free shipping....then I read some of the responses in here and just decided to wait until I got back home to check my FLGS. Lo and Behold, they had both (and I had a little trade-in credit there) so I grabbed them up this afternoon. Can't wait to dig in when I get home from work tonight.

So - place the order at CSI yesterday, delivery scheduled for Saturday. Suck it, MM!

I feel bad that MM got so screwed this time around. Got my book yesterday btw.

I agree. I pre-orded both the Tantive IV and some Wave IV miniatures from them and both arrived either the same day, or a day after the official release date to the general public. Not sure what the difference is with the AoR rulebook.

Got my book from MM today.

I give MM credit for really nice packaging. However, this is the same day I could have had it with no pre-order from Amazon Prime, and paid less plus no shipping.

Awesome looking book though!

My LGS was in the same boat, they didn't get an initial order, and they are getting the rerelease. So I will not be having my book until Next week tuesday :(

To give MM credit, they are smaller then Amazon and had to deal with the 4th of July holiday thing right in the middle of that whole release. I'm more satisfied with MM then Amazon weirdly enough as they successfully ship to South Africa every time while Amazon have lost a couple of packages (they always replace) and have a whole range of items they refuse to ship to SA.
