2.13.5 Played abilities that state a condition preceded by “if ”, “after”, “when”, the entire effect
following “if ”, “after”, “when” must resolve and then the condition can be fulfilled. For
example, for the game text “If this attack deals damage, reveal the top card of your deck.
Gain X vitality.” The vitality gain is fulfilled once the attack deals damage and you reveal the
top card of your deck.
The use of the word "condition" in this rule is vastly confusing here; "condition" is a word used to describe an if/when/after clause, yet here is seems to be referring to the effect that comes *after* the condition? That's the only way it can make any sense, at least.
In any event, if I understand this correctly, Purpose
(If this attack deals damage, discard it from your card pool. Your next attack gets +X to its check or Stun: X, where X is the number of cards in your pool)
will now only give you the check boost or stun if the attack deals damage, right? Just want to double-check...
