3 weeks to ship? Ouch. What did you order?

For something to take that long you must have gotten some custom foam?

3 weeks for them to ship something is actually kind of fast.

USD Subtotal: $176.93 USD

Personally I just use a Empty Sabol Motor Pool case, (I had one with foam for 40k stuff and I just took the foam out) and then leave the plastic in place that the ships cam in, a Motor Pool case is like 35$ and if you save the plastic that the stuff comes in when you buy it that is "free" and if the ships survive FFG shipping to stores, and stores shipping to me, well, it certainly should survive me heading to a tournament

Battlefoam is a quality product, but the company has a long ship time. It's not just you. Well worth the wait, though, so hang in there.

Nice, enjoy. I have a PACK 720 for Christmas last year, but am finally only now getting around to putting some custom foam in it. I'm doing it the hard way and ordered foam sheets and a hot wire cutter. It costs about the same as custom foam, but for future builds I'll already have everything I need. Bonus: I can make a better layout than they have even with their custom tray creator. :)

I currently have a 2 plano boxes which work fine....but I want something a bit nicer and more custom fit. I didn't think this game was going to grow so fast and so much. So now that I actually like the game's direction, it's worth buying a nice pack for it. I don't mind waiting since I do have a nice storage for my small/large ships. Now that the larger ships are out. I'm going all out.

Thanks buddy!! I'm sure I'll be happy. I just know that some peeps don't have as much patience as I do.

Wow, $180 USD for foam. That's an incredible ripoff.

^

I agree., no foam is worth 200 bucks IMO..

To each, his own I suppose.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. All of the miniature game bag/foam makers are around the same price I've found.

If that's how you see it......so is the game!!!

Bahahahahahahaha!!!!

I'm in the packaging industry and deal with custom foam and corrugated.

Custom stuff is expensive. The die board are very expensive. They may run these in small batches or maybe just laser them as per order.

if this was a true stock item, it should not take them this long lot fulfill an order.

I manufacture custom corrugated boxes. we charge around $25 for one sample done on our cad table. Laser cutting tables require more maintenance.

The price is fair and up to par with industry standards.

Fair warning. Your case will likely have a handle sewn into the top of the case. Use of this handle will cause the fabric to detach at the edge seam and the entire top cover will come off. Battle Foams response to this was to tell me to find a seamstress and pay to have the fabric re-sewn (really? not even GW blows you off that hard when you have a product issue).

Most PACK cases come with a carry-strap. Always use it.

For minis/armies I would recommend the TableWar products, though for X-Wing I find a simple plastic Plano compartmented case to work just fine.

I'm just waiting for the wave 4 ships to end up in the custom tool they have so I can design another tray to hold them all...

Ordered foam in February, got them last week...

didn't know foam was that hard to cut through...

You can buy a Plano box to store your stuff for less than $20, why is a $200 foam case necessary?

You can buy a Plano box to store your stuff for less than $20, why is a $200 foam case necessary?

what's truly necessary? it's a hobby, some people go out of the way to get some nice storage/transport options, some repaint, some buy extra expansions they can't practically use in a game, some build/create gaming tables/mats, some buy display cases .. and so on

nothing beyond building your first 100 points list is truly necessary - and even that since it is a game :)

hobbies offer a wide range of ways to burn through your money choose for yourself on which fire to throw it.

Why is a $20 Plano box necessary when you can buy a plasticbag for a quarter?

plastic bag for a quarter man that's a rip off, i use old MacDonalds chicken nugget containers!! i love how my minis smell like chicken!! makes it easy to identify them as well...

The shipping time is unacceptable.

Got mine in custom KR multi case. All tokens, templates, dials cards for 300 points of imperials(including 2 firesprays), 100 points of rebels plus room for quite a few more. All for about £30. Very happy chappy :D

I can help answer this. My BattleFoam bag only cost around $100. It took about 5 weeks to get it in but I had all custom cut foam trays made for it. I travel for me job by plane almost every week. During my search for a way to transport my ships safely on a plane is why I purchased a Battle Foam Bag. The Plano cases are nice and do an excellent job for house to shop transport. If you ever want to go on a long trip the bags protect the minis better than Plano's do.

This is what that price will get you. Stand with your arms straight out with Plano in hand and drop it! I will have no problem doing this with a BattleFoam bag. So it's Protection versus Storage and that is the price you pay.

cut the foam spherical and paint it black and white, fitting the current occasion, and you can use it as a soccer ball - a whole new level of metagaming if you play a round of soccer with your x-wing minis.

(yeah referenced two current threads and one current event in one sentence ;) )
