Used him this morning for first time with cluster missiles, wingman, and munitions failsafe. WOW! For the price, hes super solid. Gonna be a staple of LOTS of Rebel squads.
Airen Cracken
How fast did he die? I'm guessing he probably didn't last very long after the Alpha strike.
If you can present a juicier target he can stick around for a while but yes he'll go down fast if you're not careful.
I don't get why people think Z-95's will die so fast. He has one less hit then an X-wing with the same agility. For the cost saving they seem vastly superior.

X wings also die very fast. 2-3 solid shots take them out.

Unless Biggs is around, Craken would be a prime target. He gives a free "squad leader" every round so why wouldn't you make him a priority?

He lasted 4 turns and killed Mauler Mithel, and damaged another ship. Wingman and his skill work great together.

I wonder, how would this team fare?
Wedge
Cracken + VI
Biggs
Garven
Alternatively, you could replace Wedge for a Dagger Squadron with Jan Ors as crew, replace VI on Cracken for Wingman, and give R4-D6 to Biggs (because there is not much else to do with 1 point)
Edited by Red CastleThe one I want to try is:
Janson - Swarm Tactics
Cracken - Swarm Tactics
Biggs
Tarn Mison
Okay, better yet:
Cracken
Biggs + R2-F2 (the one that give +1 agility)
Garven + veteran instinct (with the droid)
Blue Squadron Pilot + Jan Ors
From PS8 combat phase, Biggs defend with 3 agility + Focus + Evade. That should make him a lot harder to kill.

I've actually run this squad a few times, and so far it's won every time. I've also run it with BSP+HLC instead of Wedge, but I'm not sure if I like that one more or less. The HLC is better than Wedge at range, but Wedge is better in close quarters, and have 5 be the lowest skill on the team instead of 2, it's a bit harder for your opponent to figure out what you're doing.
Idk if I'd always target Cracken first. HE isn't the one doing the major damage, so killing the heavy hitter first MIGHT be the correct choice. Then again, Cracken is easier to kill than any other Rebel ship.
I just looked at Cracken's stats and, though I'm a newbie, my experience with other similar games suggest that Cracken will be a staple of Rebel teams in the future.

I will probably replace a Rook in any list with Cracken.
When the Z-95 was previewed there was a lot of talk about Blount, but Cracken is the one I was most excited about.

Cracken can give a generic a TL+F for an Assault Missile, so it makes the very specialized Blount even less appealing. Still like him though, cheap EPT platform too.
I've faced him twice this week.
I crushed him like a bug both times.
TIE Bombers all the way!

Because the other 3 elite ships with upgrades are doing more damage ?

I think they both have their place. TL+F is good but not guaranteed. Blount cannot fail, and he sneezes stealth devices away.
Cracken is a force multiplier and Blount is a man with foolproof a plan. I think it's cool that they were the gunners in the Falcon during the Battle of Endor too.
I like them both, but I like the fact that Blount makes Deadeye useful even better.
More than his ability to help stack TL & F, I like that he turns any nearby ally with movement actions into Turr. If a ship has PTL but stays near Cracken it may be worth holding off using it until after Cracken fires.
He just opens up tons of actions.
