possibly obvious question from a new player

In regards to psy rating bonus when rolling a Focus Power Test:

I've read in the example texts that it's supposed to be +5 for every point of PR, but no matter how much I search the book I can't find where it states the rule for it. Can anyone give me a page number?

Thanks in advance!

The focus power test is on page 208 of the BC core rulebook.

Thanks. I read over that section repeatedly and somehow missed that every time.

Don't worry about it. It's really hard to catch, for some reason, and it's sorta buried there in the middle of the text. I swear I read it 5 times during a session where the question came up, when we were starting out with Black Crusade with me as a GM, and I just kept missing it.

Don't forget the even more hidden part about you being able to make a quasi-focus power test (you don't roll like usual, only apply the resulting bonus) during an opposed willpower test when resisting psychic powers by applying a power strength rating of Fettered/Unfettered/Push. So it's basically an added 5 x PR/2 bonus with no phenomena risk (Fettered), a 5 x PR bonus with chance for phenomena (Unfettered) or a 5 x PR+Y bonus with phenomena (Push) to your opposed test. Took me over a year to find that gem. It's basically a scaling Strong Minded effect, but with added risk when not used Fettered.

I don't think it exists in the other game lines. Maybe Only War as it came after BC.
