Standard Play, 100 Points. Before each game a player may generate a 100 point list in secret. Both players reveal their lists simultaneously. A player may generate a new list for each game.
New Tournament Format: Blind Pick
This is actually the standard list construction rules for Malifaux. The only thing you reveal to one another prior to putting your lists together, is what faction you are playing (which must remain the same throughout a tournament). It would be interesting to try with X-Wing.
Well in Malifaux there are lots of different factions with different playstyles, but now Rebels no longer means 4Ship and Imperial no longer means Swarm, so the faction declaration would be largely meaningless. Also, over the course of a 6-8 game tournament it could be more fun to not play the same list 9 games in a row.
I guess the point of this would be to eliminate scouting? Otherwise I'm not seeing much of a reason to add even more setup time before each game.
Not a terribly exciting idea. The only thing it would accomplish is preventing scouting.
How about constructing a list for each round andand picking one at random for each match?
Same idea, some time saved. Lots of variety.

Which is how Warmachine does things and also interesting.
Our league organizer had the idea of having every player bring their entire collection and then using Voidstate to generate a random list for each player.
Edited by NytRandom lists are terrible, what if someone gets 5 Rebel Operatives with no turrets and the other gets 4 B-Wings?
Obviously the players would have to pre-write their lists in advance.
I had a somewhat similar idea, adding ironman style to it. If you loose a unique in the prior round you loose it for the rest of the tournament and just add replacements.

He said you make x amount of lists and roll to see which one you play. You would obviously make different but effective lists. If you build a rebel op list with blaster turret and rolled it, it's your own fault for having it on your list choice.
