MM has shipped my Wave 4 order!

By dojimaster, in X-Wing

Mm shipped today! I can rejoice again!

I called MM earlier in reference to the sign being up that they are in-stock, but not shipping.

They said they got another shipment in late last night and are filling them in order, hopefully filling all pre-orders and shipping the boxes by this evening.

We'll see.

I almost bought 2 of each at the LGS last night. If I hadn't gotten them for $10 each from MM, I would be mildly irritated.

At this point, I just am wondering what the point of pre-ordering is since my LGS has beat MM, CSI and Amazon to the punch each and every time a new ship has come out.

I guess it saves a little bit of money in the long run, but it's annoying.

I think pre-ordering helps MM decide how many ships they want to order from FFG.

Some brick shops allow pre-ordering but they don't always receive enough to fill them.

I guess it's just a matter of finding a shop that has a high probably of filling your pre-order and getting them quickly.

Honestly, it varies from release to release.

I'm still waiting. If they don't ship today then I'll send them an email to make sure that adding 2 B-wings to the order didn't mess up their process and delay /prevent processing. I pre-ordered May 7th.

Edit: shipped!

For me it's a savings of $40 ($50 if you include the Shuttle in my order to get the free shipping). That's not insignificant.

I tried contacting live support but got bumped to submitting a ticket. Which I did. We'll see if I hear back.

After the awesome experience of pre-ordering the huge ships, this one's leaving me a bit cold.

Likewise.

That, and I'm just miffed that all my friends have new toys and I don't.

Mostly nerd rage at this point, but DAMMIT IT SUCKS.

I'm not all that rushed to get the ships, but I am concerned that preorders are not being filled on the release day. The only explanation I can rationalize is that they did not receive enough stock to fill all of their outstanding orders.

It shouldn't take 3 or 4 days to pick, pack and ship them all if you have the merchandise.

I don't want to cancel my order, but I may on principle as preordering implies that you will get your merchandise as close to release as possible.

I agree 100%... Even an email saying "fulfilling your preorder is taking longer than we expected" would be sufficient to harbor good will.

Radio silence when they are very much aware that news of preorders shipping crosses the net like wildfire... Ehhhhh...

I don't see an option to cancel it. I probably would have last night if I could have found the button, to be honest.

I placed my preorder on 5/22 and it got shipped yesterday for an arrival of 6/27. A friend of mine placed his on 5/13 and had it shipped 5/21. that should give you a timeline on how long it takes to move thru the preorders. you also have to take into account the volume may have increased as the release date got closer.

That's horribly disheartening since I pre-ordered before both of you :/

They have a customer support tag in web site i would use it if I were you.

I ordered 6/2 (which was about the same lead-time I had on the huge ships, if even that long).

I just heard back that it'll probably still be 1-2 business days before my order ships. This means it could be 6/30 before it even ships out, making it unlikely that I'll receive my order until 7/7 or after.

Looks like I'll be pre-ordering Rebel Aces and Wave 5 from CoolStuff. I haven't read anything about delays from them.

Sucks. I like MM's point system.

The two big issues I am having with this whole preordering fiasco are the fact that they are not shipping the preorders in the order that they were received and that they are posting the ships for sale before filling all of the preorders.

The point of taking preorders is so you can tell the manufacturer how many of the product you need. If they give all you need you should be able to fill all the preorders promptly. The only reason that shouldn't happen is if the manufacturer somehow did not produce enough of the product, and, if that is the case, they should fill the orders in order. We know that is not the case here since they are listing the ships in stock.

If they know they cannot place an appropriate sized order they should close the preorders once their limit is reached.

I was actually going to put my preorder through coolstuffinc, but they sold out of their Z95 preorders. I switched to Miniature Market to get it in before theirs sold out, but that seems to have backfired.

Lastly, Miniature Market's point system is a flat 1% bonus. At coolstuffinc you can get larger discounts with more orders. It looks like this will be my last Miniature Market preorder.

Still no word from MM. I included a B-wing and a Hwk with 3 E-wings, 3 Defenders, 3 phantoms, and 4 Z-95's. When I placed the order, the B-wing and Hwk were in stock. I would hope that did not mess up getting the order shipped.

I would also agree. coolstuff is going to get my next preorder for wave 5. The discount continues to accumulate with every order I place and they managed to get my wave 4 shipped out on Monday. Tracking still shows it being delivered tomorrow.

MM...for shame.

aaaaaannnnnndddd....

My shipping notice came in one hour after my last post here...

I'm hoping it's coincidence.

Mine still hasn't shipped, sadly. I did order late, but this is a bit much. If the situation remains, I'll likely try to cancel and pick them up elsewhere tomorrow. I was really hoping to get them before next weekend.

Mine finally shipped too, ordered sometime in May. I wonder if they ship based on distance so most people receive them on the same day. I'm interested to see locations of people who's order just shipped today. I'm in southern indiana and typically get my orders the day after they ship.

I called MM to ask what was going on. They said:

"The bulk of our order just arrived late in the day yesterday [June 25]; we had a few smaller shipments come in Monday and Tuesday, but most of it just got in. We're working on going down the queue in order as our warehouse is still sorting through the thousands of orders, but everything should be shipped out tomorrow [June 27] at the latest."

The customer service guy was extremely courteous and upfront - that alone prevented me from changing me order from them to CoolStuff... gotta support the elusive customer service where you can! That said if it isn't shipped by early morning June 28, that might be cause to evaluate again.

I sent an email to MM's support and received the following back in about 2 1/2 hours after I sent in the mail..

Greetings,

I do see the order in the system here. We only received small shipments of the new X-Wing ships Monday and Tuesday, with the bulk of the order arriving late in the day yesterday as the item's official release date was just today. Our warehouse has been fully dedicated to shipping out the X-Wing preorders as quickly as possible. With your order being placed in June it is closer to the end of the queue, but we do hope to have all of the preorders shipped out within 1-2 business days.

I do understand the concern over stock counts, I can assure you that we do have enough to cover all of the preorders, with the leftovers put up on the site as New Release items.

Thank you for choosing Miniature Market!

Pretty much explains it, and I am satisfied with the reply. I feel they are on schedule if the official release was today as they claim.

HAHA MM guys are thinking... "In the name of... why we started to sell X-wing?"

LOL - No doubt, but then again this has to be expected in this day and age. The whining could've been avoided with a mailing explaining the delay.

update: mine shipped, ordered june2

Mine just shipped today. Ordered on March 12th.
