Size of the Innsmouth board?

By Guest, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Is it the size of the other expansion boards, or is it that size minus the other world area? I hope it's not the latter, as it'll ruin simmetry.

I assume it'll be the same size. There are no new OWs, but there's a Deep One Uprising track which has to be fitted on somewhere, and maybe some other tracks and special stuff too.

It's about time that the Deep Ones showed up....

Heck yeah. Back when Kingsport was being introduced, Kevin mentioned that there will be an aquatic movement as, "I may need it later..."

All the forum patrons went frothy-mouthed at that comment.

Well the Dunwich board has the Horror track, the Kingsport board has the (pretty **** big) rift track and they still managed to squieeze in other worlds.

True. And the number of neighbourhoods is about the same. Maybe there will be a more extensive Kingsport-Head-style set of locations to represent Devil's Reef and even Y'han'ithlei (or whatever it's called, the Deep One city which sounds like someone sneezing).

Btw, do you guys think 6 investigators (that count as 4) are enough to cover arkham+the 3 expansion boards?

That depends on what Innsmouth does, and how the mix of Mythos cards ends up. Once you're including Mythos cards from all three expansions, you're diluting Dunwich quite a lot (and Innsmouth too, if it has unstable locations).

I'm reasonably certain it'll be the same size as the others. The thing about mass producing game components is that it helps if you can reuse the same templates multiple times. That's the reason why all of FFG's "big box" expansions come in the same size box, even when some of them don't even fill half the box with stuff. Making the Innsmouth board a different size (even if it is smaller than others) would probably end up being more expensive than just using the size they have set up from the other expansions and finding something to do with the extra space.

Well we already know it has unstable locations, and we already know how many mythos cards there are, so we basically already know that the unstable locations in innsmouth would be as diluted as the dunwich unstable location. The only thing that can make the innsmouth board active all the time is the the deep ones uprising track, and maybe some other stuff. But we still don't know how to deal with that track, and it might not even include innsmouth. I mean, how can it? the only for it as I see it is to copy the rift mechanis which forces you to visit the board but I highly doubt they would recycle it in innamouth. Dunno, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No you don't. You don't know how many of the mythos cards have an Innsmouth location instead of an Arkham location.

And yes, the board is the same size.

It doesn't matter how many. Even if all of them open at Innsmouth, how many do we have? 30? With all expansions there are about 250 mythos cards. No matter how you look at it, it will be as diluted as dunwich, at least the unstable locations part.

If I counted right, 229 Mythos when adding 36 Mythos from Innsmouth.

Sounds about right. Also no way all of them open at dunwich, and even if they does the probabilty is laughable at best.

Yeah, that is pretty weak. Well, don't use all the expansions—or come up with a simple house rule to make those locations more frequent.

No KH means 22 less Mythos, that's 10% (ish) gui%C3%B1o.gif .

10% is negligible, and Kingsport is WAY too fun to give up. Pass

100% agree. Kingsport has the funnest mythos cards, not to mention the hardest rumor in the game (mistrust).

Nothing can top Clothing Drive or No One Can Help You Now for "fun" demonio.gif .

Oh really? What about the No Clothing Drive? ;'D
