It's "On the Boat" could take on a whole other meaning ...

By any2cards, in X-Wing

Fox news?

I don't believe anything from them. They are worse than this tabloids you see at the grocery stores that tells you Obama had a baby with a dinosaur.

It's Fox News. I take them about as seriously as I do a Cubanboy thread.

Fox news is politically biased, and hires idiots, but that doesn't change the reality of the situation. A big contract is ending and from the sound of it the union behind it is readying to defend itsefl, which could cause issues for shipping from Asia for a few months. That said, At worst Rebel Aces gets delayed. None of us would be shocked by that, I think most of us are expecting it.

It does seem some trouble is looming:

I've never understood how the US (and french, among a few others) unions can be so antagonistic they'd rather destroy a business than compromise. The unions in the Netherlands are far more engaged in ensuring the best worker conditions in viable companies.

It was only a matter of time before X-Wing miniature shortages were blamed on the president

"This isn't the Change you're looking for."

I'll blame north Korea

Why not blame the Kaiju? Maybe that tanker used as a club in Pacific Rim was full of Imperial Aces (hence the delays).

:P

What happens happens. There are much worse things at stake here than us losing X-Wing.

20,000 odd homes are going to be at risk of not having enough income for the next several months. I'm sure they'd love our whining about the inconvenience of it all.

Is there a news service that isn't biased?

The Onion.

Is there a news service that isn't biased?

I find AFP, Reuters, BBC and even Al-Jazeera rather neutral, not just in their tone but also in their selection of news.

The problem with a bias is that you don't get all the facts. The article makes the union workers sound like they're all spoiled and overpaid. I see salary figures posted for two jobs, which I'm not even sure are accurate. What percentage of the labor force do they represent? What does "nearly nothing" mean with regards to their healthcare, and who is providing that healthcare? I received free healthcare for six years while I was in the military, and I got everything I paid for.

Alright, so the big bad union is about to strike. Why? Do they feel threatened for some reason? On the other side of the equation is the Pacific Maritime Association, which I'm not seeing a whole lot of information about. What's their position? Do the union workers want more, or are they trying to keep what they already have? Does the Pacific Maritime Association want to keep things as is, or are they trying to reduce wages and benefits?

Wonderwaagh is the man in the hat and I am the guy who walks in. I try my best to bring good things to the forum and Wonderwaagh does this....

That's sort of my point. I'm not disregarding the news entirely, but I knew from the beginning that the sky isn't falling.

Yes, I'm sure we were all very entertained this morning when we read that you're no longer excited by wave four. Good things indeed.

From slamming it into a brick wall? It won't be because you are overthinking things.

Labor disputes happen and have happened, unless the " left" err west coast melts down, goes bankrupt or is attacked we should be good.

I will proby take junk for this but I like Fox a lot more then Hammer and Sickle err msnbc/cnn/abc but that's like saying I like to be slapped in the face more then kicked in the teeth

I've been to Voodoo Donuts, it was an overrated experience. That's sort of my impression of veganism in general, but that's neither here nor there.

Just don't depend on only one news source. All the news in all the world is at your fingertips, in every bias available. Don't stick with the ones who agree with you, you might miss something important.
