Reinforce action good for whole ship or just a section?

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Does the reinforce action cover the whole ship or just the aft section? (CR90)

Either section. But only 1 at a time. Declare which section when performing the action.

Ah ok this makes sense. Thanks. :)

And the evade that reinforce gives you stays for every attack against that section. Its not a one-time evade like the evade action.

Just 1 section at a time. It is basically the crew angling the deflectors to repel a shot.

Why read the rulebook when you can just ask the rest of us to explain it to you???

Wow, OuterRimJob. Douchey, much?

We explain things more directly than the rulebook does, for instance.

Yeah really, that is completely uncalled for. Many of us who post in the rules forms are completely fine with answering simple questions even though they are covered in the rule book.

With an attitude like that, I don't think this form is the place for you, unless you have a question of your own.

Tantive Rulebook, pg 4.:

The CR90's aft Ship card shows the [Reinforce] action icon; this allows it to perform the REINFORCE action. To do so, place one reinforce token next to either the fore or aft section of the CR90.

When a CR90 with a reinforce token adds one [evade] result to its defense roll, but only if that token is assigned to the targeted section.

That seems pretty straight forward to me. Just sayin'. If that is a bad attitude, so be it. It wasn't meant in a negative manner. Just my $.02. I guesss that's not allowed... perhaps I missed that in the rules!!!

We also get people who don't have the new item but ask questions about how they work anyways, players who aren't native english speakers who have to deal with translated rulebooks, and the more common guidance to ensure how they think it works is in fact correct.

It wasn't meant in a negative manner.

An answer of RTFM is always going to be seen in a negative manner.

ORJ, it wasn't pointing out that the answer was in the rulebook that was the problem, it was that your answer basically insulted the poster and whined about having to do work for them.

"Why read the rulebook when you can just ask the rest of us to explain it to you???"

Comes across like "I see that you are too lazy to search for the answer yourself and would rather make us do the work for you", plus, you didn't even answer the question. If you had said something like

"It just covers the section it is assigned to. You can find the rule that covers this on page 4 of the Tantive IV rulebook" and then quote the rule, that manages to be helpful and point out that the question has an answer in the rulebook without being insulting.

So noted...
