Turr Phennir + Push the Limits ?

By Portage, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Turr Phennir read “After you perform an attack, you may perform a free boost or barrel roll action.”

Does this also mean after an attack, a play could now use “push the limits” and do a boost and roll if they do not have a stress token?

Yes. Using PTL off of the free Boost/B.R. of Turr is a common way to play PTL.

You could not do any action with Turr if he has a stress token.

Only other thing to keep in mind is that you can not perform the same action twice in one round.

OK, thank you very much.

Also important to remember that if you use PTL off of Turr's regular action, giving him a stress token, he can't even use his free boost/roll unless you get rid of the stress somehow first.

Why can't he use a free boost/roll if he is stressed?

Cause the basic rule restriction :D

He can't make an action if stressed, even if is given by him ability.

Core rulebook, page 17 under Stress:

"While a ship has at least

one stress token, it cannot execute red
maneuvers or perform any actions (even
free actions)."

As flaick said, if you are stressed you may not perform actions. So if turr is stressed when he attacks he may not perform a free boost/roll.

I always use PTL on Tur it makes him very flexible. If I'm going to take direct fire and don't have a back door ill ptl for an evade.
