I made a mistake with Advanced Sensors - Apparently I was announcing a pre-focus immediatley after I flipped over my dial but before I moved, like "Ok this B-Wing is gonna K-Turn, and he'll pre-focus before the move".
One opponent said "Aren't you supposed to announce that BEFORE you reveal?" and I was kinda baffled - because I had been doing it that way for so long that I had to re-read the card, and he was correct. He allowed me to finish the move , but cited that for the rest of the match I'd need to do it exactly as it was worded.
That seemed pretty fair.
Bizarre Tournament Behaviour
I flipped it over as I was saying the words - so yes I had revealed it.
But I hadn't like, "Measured" to see if it would work or anything. It was all one sentence. I flip it over and say "This guy is doing this," as I grab a focus token, " and he'll pre-focus".
honestly it was more about saving time than going by the book... because some people really don't care. Like, this same guy had all 4 of his ships with pilot skill "2", and for the first few turns he'd move them all first, and THEN place focus tokens - which is technically just as incorrect... though it ended up not mattering until he started doing turns.
I tend to lean towards doing things faster and simpler - but I understand if people want it to be by the book, because faster and simpler can occasionally lead to a mistake.

Also, you're allowed to say your dial says whatever.
I'm just saying, there were arguments to be made...
