Ion turret usage, a question.

it would be kind of hard to do since ion effect is only a 1 straight move. The damage they take with each hit will likely destroy them if not.

But sure if they are playing close to the board and you see that ionizing them can make them go off the board then why not. Only thing is that they really have to be facing the board in order to be effective.

To be honest I don't see how ionization would make them fly off the board because if they are in a position that a 1 straight will take them off the board then I don't see how any maneuver could keep them from leaving. Even with a 1 turn they would fly off the edge if they were that close.

Another thing to remember is the 1 straight move doesn't have to take them off the board itself. A 1 straight move followed by any other maneuver taking them off the edge works just as well.

I flew against a squad in the Kissimmee regionals that it appeared his goal was to force me off the board. He had 3 ion guns total (2 Y's and a B) and set up in his left corner facing his right corner. If I had gone straight at him with everything (flying a falcon with a B and X supporting) I would have been sent straight off for sure. He flew across his own board edge for 3 turns as I approached, luring me to where it would only take a few rounds to force me off, rather than the entire game
