We're planning a 300 point epic game and I know my opponent is eager to experiment with his huge ships. I expect to see a Corvette, but I wouldn't rule out a Corvette and a Transport.
As much fun as it would be to run a boatload of TIE Bombers, I think the following list might be a bit more of a surprise:
Imperial Large Ship Nonsense
4 x Omicron Group Pilot + Engine Upgrade + Heavy Laser Cannon (32 points each)
4 x Bounty Hunter (33 points each)
1 x Howlrunner (18 points)
1 x Captain Jonus (22 points)
The plan is pretty simple - create two clusters of ships: Jonus with the four Shuttles, Howlrunner with the four Firesprays. As long as I can avoid too much bumping, either of those groups should have enough firepower to knock anything out of the sky (even a Corvette). Both clusters are super durable and even if I lose one of the unique small ships, the large ships can still stand on their own.
To be honest, I've never tried to fly four large based ships in a tight formation, to say nothing of adding a small ship in the middle of it all. It could make things interesting...
Honestly, I think this list could hold up well even if my opponent switches things up and chooses not to use any huge ships.
Does anyone see any major flaws in this plan?
