Wave 7

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

I have no idea about ships but my guess we will break the 50 ship id token and let's be real moer tokens is what I need in my life and your life.

I hope there's a Naboo Starfighter!

Yup. A perfect example of a Cubanboy thread. You get a like for playing in-character.

I'd quit playing.

Agreed. They are so lame looking

Yea, I like to pretend he prequel trilogy never happened for the most part.

Three people that can't accept differences in taste, style, and so on would leave?

Oh, sweet.

Release the N1, FFG!

This is what I think of having ep 1 fighters in X-Wing

Oops wrong video I meant

Let's be honest here for a second. I have to give my opinion up front else everyone will get their panties in a bunch so here goes: I don't want prequel trilogy ships in X-Wing.However, if FFG wants to continually introduce new ships into X-Wing for an eternity, eventually you're going to run out of ideas for any Original Trilogy/EU ships.People tend to forget that they have the Senator's Shuttle cardboard piece. They could make Prequel trilogy ships at any point. Is this going to happen? Who knows.

I agree with you. Shoot they could bring out the lonestar flying win-a-bagel and I would be excited.

Obviously more than just three people feel that way. From the responses on previous posts, I think it might be the vast majority. Why? The technology, culture, and battle lines of the Galactic Civil War were distinctly different from those prequel timeline and Clone Wars. It'd be like fielding WWI and WWII armies onto the same battlefield. They should be different games, or at least different phases of an extended game.

Nope. I'd rather play with a sanctioned Borg cube than a Naboo star fighter.

That, or I would embrace it and ever K turn I did I would yell 'now this is pod racing' at the top of my lungs and fist pump...

You're right, I wouldn't,,, so I guess it's left to the pod racing thing...

Honestly, I'd be happy with a terrain pack or themed upgrade cards expansion. Imagine:

-"A Few Modifications" expansion set, extra copies of all the known modifications plus new ones.

-"Get the Crews to Their Fighters" expansion set, new pilots, most popular EPTs, and new ones EPTS.

-"You Came in That?" expansion set, large ship only cards such as crew, modifications, and EPTs.

-"Imperial Might" expansion set, Imperial only cards, such as Imperial crew and modifications.

-"Rebel Spirit" expansion set, Rebel only crew and modifications.

-"Droids" expansion set, a mix of droids for each faction and some neutral.

-"Secondaries" expansion set, all secondary weapons and platforms.

You could include the more popular cards from each theme and add new ones. You could even make it so that if you used 3 cards from a specific expansion, you gained a thematic bonus. Did you use 3 cards from "Imperial Might?" Then that list gets a perk. Lists could take on strategic, not just tactical, dimensions. Kind of like the "Aces" line but without the miniatures, yes, but it would be cheaper and therefore more accessible. You could also do mission packs, include a mission, some mission specific tokens and upgrades, and presto. That way you won't need to make new ships but you can keep adding to the game.

-"Flight School" mission pack, comes with flight instructor crew, autopilot modification, and a mission 'badge' EPT that grants +2 PS for so many points or something like that.

There were plenty of WWI weapons still in use during WWII. It would be plausible to still find Clone War era ships still flying but I agree they should be separate for game play.

In Star Wars interplanetary civilization has been around for tens of thousands of years, the 30 year gap should not have generated as big a design difference as the prequels give the impression. Ships should have been much more similar between trilogies. Ship designs are manufactured for hundreds of years before being changed. That being said, wars will always cause greater technological leaps than times of peace, but still the design change in the prequels was far too radical.

They are called Y-Wings and we already have them.

Lets assume that the other clone wars ships that DON"T appear in the original trilogy were old ships from the previous era that were still being used in THAT day, In other words - Revolutionary War era rifles that were still in use for WW1.

As for the Naboo starfighter. I'm sure Naboo still would use it if I weren't sure Palpatine had it scorched to exterminate the Gungans. :P

Good point, but they were obsolete.

The prequels weren't even really about the ships anyway, since it wasn't a full blown civil war. They were the (poorly executed) drama of the fall of a republic, with some ground warfare and special operations. Even if FFG decided to wade into the prequels for ships, there just wouldn't be as much to use. Certainly none as interesting as we've seen so far.

Wars are a catalyst for technological advances. 30 years must have driven a hundred or more years or advances, making all pre civil war technology obsolete. I would say then. 2 on all stats, but the cost would be higher than the Z95 as that was the peak of technology at the time. I.e. They shouldn't and wouldn't be competitive. Just - no.

I think its a Winnebago.

Still competitive, and not stealing anythings niche, but not bad either.
