Best "expensive" Ship builds?

With Wave 4 almost here and a few high priced options what do people think will be the "best" ship builds in the 34-50 point range? Those ones you couldn't fly three of a kind even if they weren't built on unique pilots but that you may try as a squad center piece or as key pieces in a 2+ ship build.

I guess if you want to throw in 51+ that would be good to. Although I don't want them here the other obvious ranges are 26-33, 21-25, 17-20, and 16-12. Those reflect 3, 4, 5, and 6 ship possibilities.

I suspect most ships to be Falcons, Firespray, E-Wing, Defenders, and Phantoms although something like Automatic Ten could also show up:

Ten Numb + Advanced Sensors + EU + PT + Autoblaster (44)

I just flew Ten Numb, Etahn A'baht, and Biggs and was pleased with the results. There are 12 points of upgrades in this build that I haven't ironed out yet, but the core mechanic of dealing out crits - one of which cannot be cancelled by defence dice - worked very well.

47 Vessary, VI, HLC, Engine
45 Ibtisam PTL, Adv Sen, HLC, Engine

40 Echo, VI, FCS, Recon Spec, ACD

39 Ethan, PTL, R2-D2
36 Soontir, PTL, Tgt Comp, Shield, Royal Guard

I enjoy Chewie + PTL, Assault Missile, Title, and Nien Numb. Comes in at 52 points and is pleasantly tanky. I just wish I could squeeze in 3PO and two blues with FCS.

Just drop the missile and you will + you are able to upgrade to 2 Advance sensors too

I could but I love that assault missile. Gotta keep those swarms on their toes!

Are we only going with ships using optimal upgrades or are we filling every slot.

I was hoping to see what people consider "optimized" ships. After all, anyone can fill up slots to make a ship expensive but that's not necessarily something you'd want to run.

My favourite list that contains 3 optimal builds with no "filler" would be

The 36 point Fel from above

The 40 point whisper with a different crew on it

And 24 point doom shuttle

I like-

Echo with VI, ACD- 35 points

Boba Fett with Swarm Tactics- 41

(and two Academy ties to round out the last 24 points)

aka 3 ships shooting at PS 8 with a fairly good amount of attack dice and shield/hull.

Quite frankly I have a hard time seeing a 'best' expensive ship. If you make any ship expensive you run the risk of not having enough over all firepower in your squad to deal with the enemy. That said, my money for 'best expensive ship' would probably be a regular Bounty Hunter in a Firespray. Hard to beat 33 points for what essentially moves, shoots and evades like an X-wing.

There's something to be said for Rexler with Predator. Or Rexler with Predator and HLC.

Is that something never take him in a competitive list?

The falcon, maximized for Offense, Defense, and my personal favorite build:

Offense: Han Solo (46), Marksmanship (3), Gunner (5) for 54 points (58 to make it last a little longer by adding Chewbacca(4))

4 tries to hit his target, has unlimited focus+ for his attacks, and if you add chewie, he has 14 hit points and can discard the first bad crit that comes his way

Defense: Chewbacca (42), Flight Instructor (4), C-3P0 (3), Milennium Falcon (1) for 50 points

Chewie guesses 0 once per round on his defense die and gets a free evade, can re-roll focuses (and sometimes blanks) on his defense, and has an evade action.

Personal favorite: Chewbacca (42), Han Solo (2), C-3P0 (3), Milennium Falcon (1), Push the Limit (3) for 51 points

Loses the ability to reroll defense dice, but gains the ability to evade and target lock each turn, and can spend his target lock as either a TL or a focus, whichever he needs more.

Favorites of mine for a very thematic fight, now including recent upgrades:

Han Solo + Predator + Chewbacca + C3P0 + Falcon Title + Hull Upgrade (60pts)

Luke Skywalker + Marksmanship + R2-D2 + Flechette Torpedo + Hull Upgrade (40pts)

Vs

Boba Fett + Heavy Laser Cannon + Proton Bombs + Push the Limit + Recon specialist + Engine Upgrade (61pts)

Darth Vader + Proton Rockets + Outmaneuver + Engine Upgrade (39pts)

I justthought of Boba Fett,

Fett with, Slave 1, HLC, EU, Navigator (53 ptns)

makes fett uber mobile,

not sure about the EPT, maybe Push the limit, or VI to shoot before Han and maximise all the movement shennennigans so he alwyas gets in that good range shot

(might even toss Advanced Torps on im while we are at it if he takes push;) )

Other then that I want to try and fly Corran more to try out all the options,

iam mainly thinking about 2 kinds of builds,

Corran with, Push the Limit, Sensor jammer, R2-F2 and Stealth Device (48)

swoop in for some double shots with locks n focus and next turn swoop off and sit on 5 agil...

or more of a damage dealer with squadmates trying to draw fire...

Corran with, Marksmanship, Fire control system, R2 and Engine Upgrade (45)

to juggle for those sweet R1 double taps

(would help even more if there was some action passing or coordinating, might consider some advanced torps then ;) )
