I've actually been tempted to play in my Mando armor... Outside of the fact that precision movement would be near impossible and my FOV would be abysmal.

Mando armor being worn grants a free action with firespray.

I saw a guy in a Rebel Pilot outfit at PAX East this year, though I was disappointed that he didn't enter the X-Wing tournament, but space was super limited (16 people).

Wouldn't be any more distracting than a low cut top... unless it was a low cut stormtrooper outfit, at which point I'd have to cry foul.

I've not played any tourneys, my wife bought me the Core set for Christmas & we've only played a few games of the quick start rules as my wife isn't in to 'complexities'

HoweverI was trooping at a large Star Wars event at the weekend and we spotted that Rebel Legion was fielding a X wing pilot, so a couple of us brought some sets for a photo op...time & space was a little tight but I'll stick a couple of pics up when I get a copy...2 TIE pilots Vs 1 X wing pilot, all in full costume... We were winning, obviously

The photo op & chatting to the other guys about the game has ended up with me registering here after drooling over expansion sets.

I'd like an imperial admirals hat to wear when playing. Its a lot less effort.

White(black tie optional) armor is only acceptible between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Other wise formal black should be worn.

I have enough trouble bumping ships around in short sleeve shirts. It's not like I'm a chunky dude and have big sausage fingers or anything. And I'm not the LEAST coordinated guy on the planet, but you'd have to have rolled REALLY high for your dexterity when making your character to wear a costume and play this game without it looking like some kaiju movie or something.
