If you want to think so, fine. But I trust Kathleen Kennedy. Plus, last I read, there were some good names behind the script. The fact that many of these directors are much better than Lucas can only mean good things.

It can mean only better things, but considering the low bar Lucas set that isn't saying much. I'll reserve judgment on whether or not it's "good" until after I've seen the movies.
Isn't it also a matter of having to start the production process? A director needs to be involved early on and there's about 2.5 years before release which, all things considered, not that long.
You know who'd I like to see involved while they're still alive? John Ratzenberger could reprise his role as Major Derlin, and I'm sure they could find a new character for Julian Glover. Grand Maester-Jedi Pycelle, perhaps?
I'd rather see councillor Tywin.
I'm inclined to trust that Disney knows what they are doing. I'm willing to bet that the different directors will work, and that the overall continuity will be there.
In all honesty, i think the new movies will be great, especially regarding episode 1-3 where some of the stuff is really terrible! (Episode I, "i don't like sand" *sadface*,... , could go on for hours!) disney is probably professional and intelligent enough to make movies that have their emotional moments as well as make us laugh from tine to time, without creating another Jar-Jar!
But it still breaks my heart a bit to see entire EU just thrown out the window for it. Sure it was necessary to create room for new stuff. But New Republic, Thrawn, Rogue squadron (books) and Mara Jade, especially that stuff to me was just Star wars as much as the movies. And now: "Gone, but we will give it a nod!" Aww that hurts!
