3 X-wing list for Regionals tomorrow

By Otacon, in X-Wing

So, this is what I ran at Imdaar Alpha

Wedge

Push the Limit

R2 Astromech

Shield Upgrade

Biggs

R2-D2

Shield Upgrade

Hobbie

R3-A2

Flechette Torpedoes

99 Points

And it worked fairly well, aside from my dice crapping out on me in my second and third games I felt like otherwise it was working for me. That said, I'm debating changing things up a bit and going for pure damage on Hobbie with R2-D6 and Push the Limit rather than the stress out loadout. Any thoughts about the two, or possibly shuffling upgrades around entirely? I know R2-D2 biggs doesn't seem to be very popular around here as bad rolling(which happens to be constantly) can make the steep investment a bit of a waste at times, but it seems like the best build to extend his longevity. Any ideas with non-wave 4 cards to change things up?

Personally I would strip most of the upgrades and squeeze in an extra x wing if it is possible.

I'm not sure if you're looking for tweaking or asking in general, but, IMO, this kind of three X-wing list won't work in a long regional tournament. The reasons are part of what you mention (dice going bad) and your list doesn't include two of the things I think it needs to counter that: higher PS (so you go first and can eliminate at least a ship first) and more reliability.

I think that the best current three x-wing list is Wes, Wedge, and Luke (basic upgrades are VI on Wes and opportunist in Wedge and Luke) for that reason. This list has all three X-wings shooting before most everyone else, has built in reliability (Wes strips a token to help offense or defense, Luke has free defense, and Wedge free offense) and opportunist expands your hitting power, allowing you to throw more red dice.

I like your builds for each X-wing but I think they work better in different lists.

A fun combo I've been messing with is Jek Porkins with R5-D8, Push the Limit and Hull Upgrade. He can do a K-turn, lose the stress (by rolling an attack die, 3/8 chance of getting a damage card) then Push the Limit to Target Lock and Focus (and lose the stress again). If you don't need one of the actions, you can use R5-D8 to get a 50% chance to get rid of a damage card.

Not too expensive at 35 points. Not saying its tournament-worthy, but can be almost as annoying as Luke with R2-D2.
